The Rocket Launcher is an Explosive Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was added in the Pre-Season.
The Rocket Launcher has a seasonal variant called Pumpkin Launcher.
Rocket Launcher has two Exotic variants called Lawless Shockwave Rocket Launcher and Lawful Shockwave Rocket Launcher.
Functionality

The Rocket Launcher shoots out a single large, slow-moving projectile. When this projectile comes in contact with a surface, or stays in the air long enough, it detonates, dealing high amounts of explosive damage. It damages the player who shot it if they're too close, alongside enemies. Rockets deal more damage to structures than they do to players, but it is impossible to land headshots with this weapon. Rockets are not affected by gravity, and won't drop if they go too far.
The Rocket Launcher shoots slow-moving projectile weapon, that cannot inflict headshot damage. It has First Shot Accuracy enabled, but as it is a Rocket Launcher, it is largely irrelevant.
There is no damage falloff on the Rocket Launcher's projectiles.
The Rocket Launcher can reload whilst being aimed.

- You can shoot a Rocket under a player and allow them to ride it. This can be used to quickly transport a player to an area, such as out of the Storm.
- Keep your distance from an enemy when shooting a rocket, if you go too close, the rocket may also eliminate you along with the enemy player.
- Players can grapple onto a rocket (Creative doesn't seem to let you do it, but attempting to do so in the BR map in Creative was possible).
- Make sure to lead your Rocket in front of your opponent, as it travels very slowly, so not leading your shots can be very punishing.
Counters[]
- In modes with Builds enabled, the Armored Wall can be very effective at countering an opponent wielding a Rocket Launcher.
- The rocket fired by the Rocket Launcher moves quite slowly, so it can be easy to avoid an opponent's rockets, so long as you have stamina to sprint.
- Keeping within close range can be effective, as an opponent wielding the Rocket Launcher cannot fire back without risking damaging themselves.

- The Low Tier Rocket Launcher is modeled after the Russian RPG-7.
- The High Tier Rocket Launcher is modeled after the American Mk 153 Shoulder-Launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon or SMAW.
- The ability to ride a rocket is a glitch that Epic Games decided to not remove.
- The decals on the Rockets themselves resemble nose art applied to fighter planes during WWII, such as this.
- The Common Rocket Launcher is one of the shortest lived weapons in Battle Royale, only lasting a few hours upon Chapter 2: Season 1's release.
- The Uncommon Rocket Launcher also only lasted a single full season, in Chapter 2: Season 1. It was unvaulted during Fortnitemares, however.
- When two rockets are shot at each other, one rocket will be destroyed and the other rocket will continue its path. There appears to be no pattern that controls which rocket is destroyed.
- Firing a Grappler at a rocket will grapple the player onto it and allow them to ride it for a short amount of time.
- The same applies with Spider-Man's Web Shooters, except they can be permanently held onto.
- When Epic Rocket Luancher was added in Overwatch Caches, it comes with the Rare Jetpack as a reference to Pharah's Hover Jets and Jump Jet ability.
