Overview
Season 7, with the slogan You Better Watch Out, was the seventh season of Fortnite: Battle Royale. It started on December 6th 2018 and ended on February 28th 2019. It was originally supposed to end on February 14th 2019, but was extended for 2 weeks following Epic Games' holiday break. The theme of the season revolved around winter and Christmas.
Battle Pass owners were also given early access to Fortnite: Creative, in the start of the season. The game mode would become available for everyone 1 week after the start of the season (December 13 2018).
The Start of Something New
The Start of Something New[]
Season 7 started a new storyline, separate from the storyline that had been happening since Season 3. The corruption zones had completely faded away by the time the Iceberg spotted in late Season 6 collided with the southwest side of the island, freezing Greasy Grove and completely destroying Flush Factory. Three new locations were brought in with the Iceberg, Happy Hamlet, a small town for the inhabitants of the Iceberg, Polar Peak, a large ice mountain containing a castle buried in snow, and Frosty Flights, the headquarters of Expedition, a military faction commanded by Sgt. Winter. Following the Iceberg's collision with the island, Expedition invaded the island using Slushy Soldiers and X-4 Stormwing planes to deliver Presents to the Loopers, setting up numerous Expedition Outposts throughout the island.
The Season 7 Storyline
The Season 7 Storyline[]
Within the next few days following the launch of Season 7, Polar Peak began to thaw out, revealing a giant castle owned by The Ice King and several surrounding buildings.
Upon realizing that the Ice in which The Ice King was frozen in was thawing, the Ice King conjured an Ice Storm on the Island to keep it cold enough to stop it from further thawing (See Ice Storm). However, several days later the snow and the ice in the Island starts melting, and with it the Iceberg continues to melt as well, and as the ice continued to melt even further, a throne room, library, and a dungeon were revealed, and in one of the rooms, there was a table with 5 symbols, each representing a King, the chair behind the fire symbol was flipped. The dungeon contained cells, one of which contained five mysterious eggs. A further room was also revealed, housing a large mound of ice surrounded with chains.
As the days passed, the ice with chains in the Polar Peak dungeon started melting, revealing a pair of arms tied to those chains. Eventually, the ice thawed and a being known as The Prisoner had escaped, with the purpose of regaining his power.
As The Prisoner regained his power, the deadlocks around his body started falling and fire appeared around his body, causing seismic activities to start happening in the Island.
How did it End?
How did it End?[]
The Prisoner's activities throughout the season caused dozens of fissures to open up around the Island. The largest of these fissures (which also happened to be the final one) occurred inside Tilted Towers, destroying the news station that was just constructed. In the final days of Season 7, Wailing Woods became dried up and a washed up brown color, as ashes and smoke started to rise up from the ground.
Battle Pass
Battle Pass[]
The Battle Pass cost
950 V-Bucks, with an additional 25-Level Boost offered for
2,800 V-Bucks available via the Item Shop.
Season 7's Battle Pass introduced a new cosmetic type: Wraps.
