Chapter 2: Season 7

Previously, In Fortnite...[]

Following The Foundation's attempt to seal off the Zero Point, the Island had gone in a Primal stage, causing parts of the map turn into an Autumn-like biome. Wild animals such as wolves, boars, chickens and frogs, and NPC's like the Spire Guardians, somewhat linked to the Imagined Order, roam around the spire towers.

How Did It Start?[]

After Raz obtained a Spire Artifact, he ended up attracting unwanted attention from an alien race known as The Last Reality, which later revealed to be a faction beyond aliens. UFOs began to abduct loopers and send them to different areas of the island. Mari, a woman who is studying aliens, hosts a radio show on them titled "Hot Saucers." Later, the aliens started a full scale abduction against the citizens of Apollo, with them successfully infiltrating the Imagined Order and using their technology to rip the Spire out of the map. The location of the zero point is unknown but The Foundation was seen falling into the ocean, being rifted to the Batman reality, NF-1935.

In the Story Trailer, a series of unusual and strange phenomenon occurred in the Island:

• Spitfire detects several circle-like objects (UFO) floating and making their way to the Island.
• Envoy and Contract Giller spot an enormous UFO in a cave-like place.
• Calamity, Hayseed, and Cobb walk through cornfields quizzically, only to be left in a strange circle in which it turns out to be one of the Alien's signs.
• A tornado-like phenomenon (Alien's/invaders invading the island) soars through the Island, causing strange winds and taking Rustler's hat in a flash.
• Mothmando opens the door to their place, only to be caught in a trance after looking at strange lighting, turning into one of the Invaders. (Most likely).
• UFO's proceed to start abducting people in The Loop, which first happens to Sparkplug.
• The enormous alien mothership rushes its way through the island, covering the entire island.
• Rick Sanchez, Dare & the members of the Imagined Order try to make contact with the aliens with music, but in response, the Mothership takes The Spire off the ground, and inserts energy-like waves. On the way, The Zero Point destabilizes once again and sends another wave, removing the Primal biome.

The Storyline[]

Having no choice, IO finally fully reveal themselves to the escaped Loopers in the Extra Loop, to protect Apollo against the Alien Invaders. They set up Satellite Stations and Camps all around the Island to investigate the alien activities and The Mothership's movement. Slone recruits The Looper^[2] and sends them to missions to find out more about the aliens and more.

There are rumors of a mole working for the Imagined Order, and Slone tasks the Looper with finding them.^[3] Numerous IO agents; including Rick Sanchez, Maven, Rook and Marigold instruct the Looper in their recruitment to the IO. Slone's second task for the Looper has them infiltrate Believer Beach to earn the ringleader's trust.^[4] They meet Joey, who knows how to disrupt the mothership's communications^[5] by placing alien light communication devices on mountain tops. Slone wants to investigate Sunny and find out if she is the ringleader of the anti-human sentiment on the Island.^[6] The Looper goes to earn her trust by making contact with aliens^[7] and help her welcome them.^[8] Slone wants Hayseed, one of the island's biggest preppers, on the IO's side.^[9] To lure aliens, the IO invents Inflate-A-Bulls. Seeing its effectiveness, Slone initiates Operation Fauxvine to handle the Saucers and the abduction crisis.^[10]

Rook tasks the Looper to hunt down the traitor Riot, alongside Special Forces' help.^[11] After searching the southeast corner of the Island, they eliminate Riot and report to command.^[12] A major IO security breach happens and Slone wants to investigate. The Looper finds an access card for her and plant wiretraps to listen to "off the record" IO chatter, confirming the existence of a mole.^[13] The mole leaks secret information about the IO to the public^[14], and the Looper mindwipes the civillains. An existence of an "infiltratior of alien variety" is also found by Slone and the Looper goes to confront and eliminate them.^[15] To learn more about the aliens, Slone and the Looper start monitoring their behavior and presence on the Island.^[16] Noticing the rise in abduction numbers^[17] and the aliens' interest in Slurpy Swamp, the Looper clears the area so the IO can investigate.^[18] Desperate for an insider asset, Slone needs to squeeze intel from Joey or even recruit them.^[19] The Looper bribes her with cat food and human gifts, and she agrees to try to discourage the aliens from annihiliating the Island.^[20]

The IO comes up with a counter attack, but it has been compromized. Slone and the Looper decide to create a backup plan.^[21] They collect Alien Devices to hide the energy signature of the Countermeasure Device at Corny Complex and create hundreds of bombs. Marigold helps the Looper to bait the aliens into abducting their bombs and pressure them into making a big move.^[22] She "leaks" the location of their secret base to tempt the Mole into sharing it with the aliens,^[23] but share it with locals by herself for insurance.^[24] The countermeasure devices are prepared to strike the Mothership, but the area it is expected to crash on is populated.^[25] The Looper warns everyone to give them time to leave and prevent them from interfering.^[26] The Mole activates the devices early but their plan is quickly spoiled by the Looper.^[27] Identifying Maven as the Mole, the Looper is sent to eliminate her and does so successfully.^[28]

How Did It End?[]

Slone contacts the strike team she made, and place them on the floating parts of Corny Complex that are being abducted to ride along the bombs. The Mothership finally abducts Corny Complex along with Slone's strike team. She guides them through the ship so they can reach the abduction chamber window. The window gets locked and a Cube rises from the water. Slone is shocked by the Cube's return and weaponizes the Looper's Alien Jetpacks to deactivate the Cube. She then leaves the Looper's inside The Mothership, as she is afraid of The Cube returning to the Island. As a last stand the Loopers reboot The Cube and turn it blue. The Cube activates an elevator and brings the team to the Cube Chamber inside The Mothership, where they see numerous Cubes and veins growing from them. They all slowly starting to turn purple, one by one, except of one, that instead of purple, glows gold. Slone then activates the bombs and destroys The Mothership without knowing what's inside of it and ends up bringing all the Cubes to the Island.

Battle Pass[]

The Battle Pass was purchasable for 950 V-Bucks, or if you owned the Fortnite Crew, you would have it on season launch. It had 8 new outfits, including Doctor Slone, Kymera, Rick Sanchez, and Sunny.

The Battle Pass was reworked at the start of the season, in which players unlock a new page of rewards every 10 levels, or by purchasing a certain amount of Battle Pass items, and could purchase them in any particular order with Battle Stars () 5 Battle Stars awarded to players each level. The player also had to reach level 140, instead of the usual level 100, to gain all non-Superlevel rewards.

June 8th 2021

• The Spire had been destroyed by the Mothership partly over the Island, leaving The Aftermath in its place.
  • Pieces of the The Spire had been scattered across the Island, leaving purple patches of land with alien life.
• All primal areas had returned to normal besides Boney Burbs and the Guardian Towers.
• Sweaty Sands had been renamed to Believer Beach, a location for people that obsess over aliens, like Sunny.
• Colossal Crops had been replaced by Corny Complex, a farm with a secret facility underneath controlled by IO Guards and Doctor Slone.
• Stealthy Stronghold had become an unnamed location.
• Saucers occasionally invade three random named locations controlled by Trespassers. These locations’ names will appear purple on the minimap. The spots Trespassers can invade are Boney Burbs, Pleasant Park, Lazy Lake, Believer Beach, Slurpy Swamp, Misty Meadows, Retail Row, Dirty Docks, Steamy Stacks and/or Craggy Cliffs.
• Imagined Order outposts, Satellite Stations, had appeared around the Island.
  • The Deep Woods Dish was built inside Stealthy Stronghold.
  • The Discovery Dish was built near Fort Crumpet.
  • The Dampy Dish was built near Slurpy Swamp.
  • The Defiant Dish was built near the Primal Pond.
  • The Dinky Dish was built near FN Radio.
  • The Dockside Dish was built near Lake Canoe.
  • The Destined Dish was built on Mount F8.
• IO Camps had appeared around the Island, holding captured Saucers guarded by IO Guards.

• Spray painted images have appeared on walls at Hydro 16 and **REDACTED**, supporting aliens and going against the Imagined Order.

Update v17.10

June 22nd 2021

• Several UFOs called Abductors appeared around the Island, abducting players near them into The Mothership for experiments in a large room filled with objects and POIs from previous seasons.
  • The Henchbros can be found inside The Mothership experiment.
• Believer Beach had been further improved, including a fully constructed stage and ice cream trucks on the painted boardwalk.
• A small IO Camp had appeared and was observing The Aftermath.
• A Saucer had been set up in the large barn at the Corny Complex.
• The Steel Farm had been upgraded with Wood, Stone, and Metal structures.
• The Chair near Dirty Docks had shrunken smaller.
• Alien Parasites appeared around the Island infecting any life, including Animals.
• More Characters have appeared on the Island.

June 23rd 2021

• The Mothership started moving around the Island counter-clockwise every 1 hour.

June 29th 2021

• Another IO camp had appeared at Believer Beach next to a Pay Phone. 1-3 IO Guards spawn there.
• The Henchbros have escaped The Mothership, they spawned in a small house south of Mount F8.

Content Update v17.10

July 6th 2021

• Aliens invaded Holly Hedges, bringing Alien flora and their planet's atmosphere to it, transforming it into Holly Hatchery.
• The Party ended in Believer Beach, most of the party equipment was removed/trashed, the stage was removed, the food trucks were gone and the paint on the boardwalk was almost completely removed.
• Zyg and Choppy appeared as a boss at Hydro 16, planting Parasite Eggs in the area and taking care of them.
• The Henchbros moved on to Risky Reels.

July 9th 2021

• The Alien biome taken over the top right house in Holly Hatchery.
• A mural teasing the upcoming LeBron James Outfit appeared in Believer Beach.

July 12th 2021

• Alien biome had taken over the middle-left house in Holly Hatchery.

July 13th 2021

• Zyg and Choppy have moved to Weeping Woods, creating Alien Parasites in the area.
• Trespassers started patrolling Holly Hatchery.
• Another IO Camp had appeared in Holly Hatchery to investigate the alien biome.

July 15th 2021

• Alien biome took over the bottom-right house in Holly Hatchery.

Update v17.20

July 20th 2021

• Kymera Character as well as several alien containers appeared at Coral Castle.
• Zyg and Choppy have moved to The Aftermath.
• The IO camp at the Aftermath received a Launch Pad.
• Henchbros moved to Camp Cod.

July 27th 2021

• A blue Abductor had appeared above The Aftermath.
• Two more IO Camps with Launch Pads had been set up at The Aftermath.
• IO Camps at Believer Beach and Holly Hatchery were removed as IO Forces were mobilized.

July 29th 2021

• Low-gravity devices appeared on the Blue Abductor.
• Bushranger died, and a grave appeared next to Risky Reels, where he used to spawn.

July 30th 2021

• Rift devices appeared on the Party UFO.

August 2nd 2021

• Frozen Feet devices replaced the Rift devices on the Party UFO.
• The Mothership had opened above Slurpy Swamp, ready to start the abduction.

Update v17.30

August 3rd 2021

• The abduction of Slurpy Swamp had begun. Several buildings and rocks are floating in a low-gravity biome. Alien Launch Pads appeared in the air.
• Four IO Camps with Launch Pads had been set up to observe the abduction of Slurpy Swamp. The Henchbros had also set up to observe.
• More Building structures had been built at Steel Farm.
• The IO Camps at The Aftermath disappeared.
• Several billboards had been set up around the island, promoting Meowscle's Morsels.
• A tree resembling Bushranger appeared at his grave. It was his new icon for the quests.
• Zyg and Choppy moved to the Guardian of the Bay.

August 5th 2021

• The abducted chunks in Slurpy Swamp rose higher.

August 7th 2021

• Another IO Camp appeared at Slurpy Swamp.

August 8th 2021

• Hologram Pads which gave you Bubble Effect appeared near Weeping Woods Cabin, Green Steel Bridge and in Risky Reels
• Slurp Factory building had rotated.

Content Update v17.30

August 10th 2021

• Slurpy Swamp chunks had been fully abducted into the Mothership and replaced all previous locations (apart from the Gas Station) in the Experiment. The Mothership's main hatch closed so the low-gravity beam disappeared.
  • All IO Camps, apart from one, had therefore been removed from there.
• Removed the Party UFO from the Aftermath.
• Several Phone Booths had appeared around the island.

Update v17.40

August 17th 2021

• The Mothership opened its main hatch and sent the abduction low-gravity beam towards Coral Castle. The smaller building, the pathway building, several other pieces of the overall castle, and a boat were floating in the air, along with lots of debris.
  • Henchbros moved here, observing the abduction with a white board and telescope on the small island north of Crash Site.
  • Five IO Camps were set up on or around the area.
    • Two were in the location itself, one bordered it, one was in Coral Cove, and one was by Crash Site.

August 18th 2021

• The floating chunks rotated 90 degrees.

August 21st 2021

• The floating chunks rotated another 90 degrees.
• Zyg and Choppy moved to Craggy Cliffs.

August 24th 2021

• Part of the Castle was abducted into The Mothership. The Tractor Beam had disappeared and the low-gravity effect is gone.
• All IO Camps, apart from the one near Crash Site, were removed from Coral Castle.

August 31st 2021

• The Henchbros have once again vanished.
• Slurp pipes were barred in Slurpy Swamp, which became Sludgy Swamp.
• Added an IO Camp in Sludgy Swamp.

Teasers/Leadup[]

During Update v16.50, alien posters and Static TVs started appearing around Apollo, an Imagined Order helicopter crashed onto the island, and most of the crops at Colossal Crops were removed (possibly stolen). A woman named Mari was studying aliens and hosted a radio show discussing them.

Additionally, certain Content Creators, like Loserfruit, received DVD Players containing a CD labeled "They're coming!" and various posters with the same warning. The CD played different footage of Crop Circles in seemingly real-life fields. These Crop Circles showed symbols and likely have something to do with the Foreshadowing Quests. Posters can also be found all around the world, and various people were given postcards with the same symbol.

As well as this, numbers seen on some of these posters were actually phone numbers that you can call to hear sounds that, when put in a spectrogram, show images. One of these images shows Peely running from an alien spaceship, and another with a kangaroo in it. Because of this, it is believed they would be an animal, but instead they would be accompanied by octopuses and platypuses - theorized with some Foreshadowing Quests voice lines.

On June 2nd 2021, UFOs starting appearing, they mostly spawned in Risky Reels and could abduct up to twenty players and would heal players during abduction.

Starting on June 5th 2021, teasers of cosmetics and new items/weapons were released.
