Season 1 was the first season of Fortnite: Battle Royale. It started on October 26th 2017 and concluded on December 13th 2017. The season has retroactively been given the slogan First Steps.

Season 1 introduced progression to Battle Royale by introducing the Season Shop, where the player would be able to use V-Bucks to buy cosmetics that they unlocked by reaching a certain level. This was later replaced with the Battle Pass in Season 2, but was reintroduced with the addition of Fortnite OG
