Chapter 6: Season 4, also known as Season 37, was the thirty-seventh season of Fortnite: Battle Royale and the fifth season of Chapter 6.
The season's main slogan was Shock 'N Awesome (stylized as Shock 'N Awesome), with the theme revolving around a war between invasive bugs and the Island's militaristic extermination force.
It was the final season of Chapter 6 to be set on Oninoshima. The season ended on November 1st 2025, immediately following the Welcome, Our Alien Overlords Live Event.

The Supernovas were a team of superheroes-in-training formed in response to Daigo's return to Oninoshima, who had been turned into a puppet for the Demon Warriors by the Dark Presence and tasked with draining the Island of its energy through large Spires. As Superman and Hope took the Supernovas under their tutelage to prepare for their big fight, Daigo's attack on the Supernova Academy forced the team to scatter, complicating their efforts to recover the Zero Point Shard from within the Spirit Realm. Morgan Myst, the leader of the Supernovas, played a significant role in holding the team together through morale, allowing them to confront Daigo as he prepared to summon the Dark Presence to the Island.

Daigo's reunion with his master was abruptly cut short when he was tossed aside by one of its tentacles. The Supernovas promptly defeated the monster and drove it back into the Spirit Realm, releasing Daigo from his demonic curse. During the battle, Superman severed one of its tentacles, which was left on the surface. As time passed, the tentacle began to decompose, producing a horrid stench that attracted flies. Unbeknownst to everyone, the bug nests surrounding the rotting tentacle were a precursor of the infestation yet to come.

In the time following the Supernovas' victory against the Dark Presence, the rotting tentacle gradually attracted a massive Swarm of large mutated insectoids known as Onimorphs to the center of Oninoshima, where they established a massive Hive and began overrunning numerous locations. The Onimorph eXtermination Rangers (O.X.R.), a militaristic organization dedicated to combating infestations, reactivated and established bases on the Island to fight the threat, forming alliances with the Supernovas and the Island natives. Hope, Daigo, and the Night Rose deduced that the Onimorphs originated from the Spirit Realm, drawn to the tentacle and directly connected to the Dark Presence. The repeated conflicts involving the Spirit Realm had weakened the barrier separating it from Oninoshima.
Welcome to the Infestation[]
General Onyx Winter, the leader of O.X.R., recruits the Looper to help defend the Island from the Swarm. They are dispatched to an O.X.R. Outpost, where they assist stationed O.X.R. agents in ridding the post of Onimorphs.
Meanwhile, as Hope and Jones plot an extraction of the Zero Point Shard from the Spirit Realm, they suspect the Swarm are entering the Island through a hidden access point. Their investigation leads them back to Daigo's ruined lair, where they and the Looper discover an anomaly linked to the Spirit Realm.
Egg-cellent Observations[]
The Swarm accelerated their reproduction rates to unfathomable levels, quickly overwhelming O.X.R.'s agents at their outposts. The Supernovas in particular were unable to prevent Utopia City from being overrun by the infestation. Hope sends the Looper to the Hive to help thin out the Swarm and find clues to the access point's location, which she believed to be nearby. After finding traces of energy signatures from Hive Stashes, they erect sensors around the Hive to further locate sources of demonic energy, leading to the discovery of tainted eggs within the Swarm's nests.
Hope's theory is that these eggs are Queen eggs laid in the Spirit Realm before being brought to Oninoshima. She hypothesizes that their energy signatures could be used to weaken the access point and restrict the Swarm's invasion — and that it can be reverse-engineered to allow them to enter the Spirit Realm themselves. The Looper returns to the Hive to eliminate a Queen and test Hope's theory, with the data yielding promising results.
Megazord Rising[]
In response to the Swarm's invasion, Zordon sends the five Power Rangers to the Island to help contain it. The Blue Ranger had been studying the Swarm's weaknesses to air strikes, the Yellow Ranger had been supplying the Island with first aid, the Black Ranger had been training reinforcements, and the Pink and Red Rangers were on the battleground taking down Onimorphs. Their collective efforts bought enough time for the Megazord to be summoned, with the five Rangers boarding it to confront Rita Repulsa's monster — a giant Queen.
Despite Rita Repulsa's efforts, the Megazord defeated her monster. The remaining Queens proved no match for the Megazord's sheer power, which proceeded to destroy the Hive as O.X.R. drove the rest of the Swarm away from the Island. Oninoshima began to rebuild, though some suspected the newfound peace was merely a veil for something more sinister to come.
Prepare to Fight[]
Even with the Swarm eradicated, the threat from the Spirit Realm persisted as the veil separating realms continued to weaken. This prompted Hope and Jones to set a plan in motion to breach into the Spirit Realm and confront the Dark Presence. Daigo bequeathed the Splinter Blades to the Looper, coming to terms with the fact that he is not destined to save the Island. O.X.R. aided the crew by supplying weaponry as they hired specialists to bolster their forces. The Looper then revisited the anomaly found at Daigo's ruined lair to weaken it further, turning it into a portal to the Spirit Realm.
Although the odds were severely against their favor, Hope believed what they had assembled was enough to make a stand against the Dark Presence.
Welcome, Our Alien Overlords[]
A sprout of mysterious origin appeared on the northwestern corner of Oninoshima, eventually growing into a large tree fitted with a treehouse. Over time, a mysterious aura developed over the treehouse which caused an unstable fissure to form in the veil separating the Island from the Spirit Realm. A pair of aliens named Kang and Kodos arrived from outer space to investigate, while Hope and Jones rifted to a nearby control center to use an upgraded Rift Device to seal the breach and prevent the Dark Presence from invading the Island. The fissure was momentarily closed before reopening into a larger portal that allowed the demonic creature to cross over.
As battle erupted, Kang and Kodos became captivated by the sight of the Dark Presence, hoping to find a reproductive mate. They abducted Hope and Jones to gain the demon's favor, but Hope overpowered them and gained control of their saucer to attack the Dark Presence. Her attack was parried and the saucer was thrown into an inter-reality wormhole, but Jones noticed the Zero Point Shard in the Dark Presence's chest — and Hope used the tractor beam to steal a piece of it and carry it into the wormhole.
In the wormhole, Kodos and Hope fought over the saucer's destination: Springfield or Oninoshima. Their constant meddling with the calibration caused multiple realities to fuse with Springfield's, creating Springfield Island. Kodos plotted to conquer it, but the Battle Bus — piloted by Otto Mann — crashed into the saucer, and Hope lost the Zero Point Shard in the air.
At home, Homer Simpson tried to watch TV with an uncooperative remote when the Shard flew into his house, just as Marge told him to call the police if he ever found such an object. Hearing about its power and extraterrestrial origins, Homer outfitted the Shard into his remote, turning it into a reality-bending conduit that he quickly learned to control. He set off on a quest to achieve "nirvana," using the Shard remote to improve the lives of Springfield's residents. At Moe's, Homer found out that Hope and Jones had been looking for him regarding the Shard.

Update v37.00
August 7th 2025
- The Swarm has arrived from the Spirit Realm and spread the cyan-colored corruption biome through the northwestern part of Oninoshima. The O.X.R. has reactivated, resulting in the following Named Locations getting added:
- O.X.R. HQ, the main base of O.X.R's operations that was built around Base Tunnel.
- The Hive (replaced Lonewolf Lair), the center of the corruption where one of the three Queen resides.
- Ranger's Ruin (replaced Crime City), a former O.X.R base that was lost to the infestation. Another Queen can be found there.
- Swarmy Stash (replaced Brutal Boxcars), another O.X.R base that became half-infested.
- Demon's Debris (replaced Demon's Domain), the destroyed version of the domain without the central temple. The third Queen is located there.
- New Landmarks were also added:
- Swarm's Surge, the remains of Pumped Power that was destroyed by The Swarm, collapsing into a bunch of ruins.
- Buggy Slurpwaters, a small patch of Slurp water.
- The Burd King, the statue of BURD's mascot stolen from the nearby BURD To Go gas station.
- Chopper Top Up, a damaged repair station that was built besides the BURD To Go near Lovely Lane.
- Refined Wreck, a broken O.X.R. pipeline.
- Reboot Tower, a tall structure with a Reboot Van on top.
- Three O.X.R. bases, each guarded by two Characters and swarmed by the bugs:
- Some O.X.R. roadblocks have appeared on the island's roads.
- The Frog Family are now sitting behind an O.X.R. table with gear surrounding them.
- A mysterious giant black monolith replaced the Crashed Plane.
- The Fortress of Solitude along with the icy part of Lakeside Lab disappeared.
- Hive Stashes have been added.
- Capture Points have been brought back and are scattered all over the island.
- All Academy Tech Labs have been removed.

- Utopia City was destroyed by The Swarm, becoming Dystopia City.
- O.X.R. Base Alpha, O.X.R. Base Epsilon and O.X.R. Base Theta were lost to The Swarm.
- The Train has re-appeared. It can be found stuck by Demon's Debris.
- The Monolith now emits strange sound effects once approached.
