Functionality[]

Battle Royale[]

Boons can be found in Chests, Elemental Chests, and are dropped from defeated Demon Warriors. Boons can also be obtained by returning a Sprite to a Sprite Shrine. They can be equipped by the player, and will grant a different effect to the player depending on which type of Boon is equipped.

Unlike other items, boons cannot be dropped from the player's inventory after being picked up, and will not drop when the player is eliminated.

Blitz Royale[]

At the start of every match, every player has a chance to be given a random Medallion or Boon. During the first few weeks of the mode, the player was also able to obtain them through opening Blitz Chests and reaching Blitz Level 2 and 5.

Similar to Battle Royale, Boons cannot be dropped from the player's inventory after being collected, as in this mode, both Medallions and Boons do not appear in the inventory.

Delulu[]

Opening a Group Chest or Supply Drop has a chance to drop a random Boon.

Similar to Blitz Royale, Boons will not drop from the player upon elimination, and were not able to be dropped as they were not displayed in the inventory menu.

Trivia[]

• Internally, Boons are often referred to as "MiniMedallions".

• Wind Boon's Item ID probably references Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO). This is likely because running faster with a Melee Weapon is a staple mechanic in the Counter Strike series.

• In Blitz Royale, attempting to collect the Night Rose Medallion would display "Already owned" if the player already owned the Combat Acrobat Boon, and vice versa.
  • This is due to an issue, as collecting the Combat Acrobat Boon would occasionally somewhat grant the holder the Night Rose Medallion's abilities, including the enlarged ammo values in the HUD.
    • This has also caused the Combat Acrobat Boon to not function properly throughout all of Blitz Royale's lifespan.

• When Boons were added to Delulu, the announcement made by Epic Games^[1] incorrectly named two of the seven Boons:
  • Speed Healer was called Agile Healer.
  • Heightened Senses was called Reactive Ping.

• Almost every Boon from Chapter 6: Season 4, including their Blitz Royale counterparts, references the unused Water - Healthy Looter Boon from Chapter 6: Season 1 as being incompatible for having been "Already Owned".
  • However, this does not apply to the Super Solider and unused Supply Cache Boons.
  • Unlike the other unused Supply Cache Boon, this quirk is also shared with the unused Tracking Shot Boon.

• The Vulture Boon from Chapter 6: Season 4 uses its item model from Chapter 6: Season 2, making it look out of place compared to the art style of the other Boon models from the same season.

• The Vulture Boon from Chapter 6: Season 2 has a leftover, unused icon for it in the style of Chapter 6: Season 1's Boon icons.
  • This texture is loaded as a placeholder for the random Medallion or Boon given to every player during Blitz Royale's "Players Start With:" popup, and can be seen in the files, or with a spotty connection to the servers during the start of a match.

• A few of C6S2's Boons have different codenames for them, left over in the files:
  • The Gold Ammo Boon was originally called the Aurum Ammunition Boon (from the Latin word for gold).
  • The Gold Rush Boon was originally called the Pilfer Boon.
  • The Greed Boon was originally called the Greedy Boon.

• The Boons added to Blitz Royale during the Boon Bonanza week have their abilities copied from existing Augments with the same name.

• The Surging Speed Boon may have been intended to also be added into Blitz Royale, as it has a separate item ID specifically for the mode like other boons that returned.
  • This likely was not a mistake when porting the other Chapter 6: Season 3 Boons either, as the separate Boon ID was edited to have a placeholder icon and a different description.
  • The Surging Speed Boon may have not been added to the mode due to its relations to the Superman collaboration.

• The Surging Speed Boon was the only Boon to not automatically be granted to the player upon reaching S+ Rank in Chapter 6: Season 3.
  • This was likely due to the fact that it was only obtainable for a limited time, and was tied to dealing damage to a player transformed using the Superman Call.
