The Overdrive Grenade is an Utility item in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Chapter 7: Season 2.
Functionality

Overdrive Grenades are thrown by the player using the arc provided. Once thrown, they will knock back anyone inside of the blast radius a small distance, be it the player, an opponent, or a squad member. They will also knock back vehicles and wildlife.
Overdrive Grenade grants unlimited stamina and slight movement boost for 10 seconds to anyone caught in its blast radius. Initial explosion also grants fall damage immunity until the player hits the ground.

- Overdrive Grenades are a good source of mobility in a pinch. They can be used to push yourself or teammates into or away from opponents, and the additional speed boost gained from them further assists this.
- Unlike the Shockwave Grenade, Overdrive Grenades should not be used in an offensive manner, since throwing them at other players grants them the Slap buff.
- It is highly important to note that the Overdrive effect granted by the Overdrive Grenades does not prevent fall damage.
- However, the initial launch upwards generated by the explosion of the grenade itself does, and can be used to jump off of tall places without worry.

- The Chapter 7: Season 2 blog post states that the Overdrive Grenade grant a temporary movement speed, reload speed and fire rate buff. This is not the case in-game, as it gives movement speed buff and infinite stamina instead.
- This could imply that Overdrive Grenades were meant to have the same effects as Overdrive from Fortnite: Ballistic, but was changed before release.
