Medallions

Functionality[]

Medallions are typically Legendary, with the exception of Kenny's Respawn Token, which is Mythic.

Battle Royale[]

Medallions are typically obtained as a drop from defeating Bosses. When collected by a player, their location area will constantly be exposed on the map. Collecting any additional Medallions shrinks the radius further.

Unlike many other items, Medallions do not take up a slot in the player's main inventory, instead appearing next to other resources similar to items like the Self-Revive Device.

Medallions can be dropped at will by the player, hiding/expanding the radius of their location area, as well as being dropped (or consumed with the case of Kenny's Respawn Token) upon Elimination.

Blitz Royale[]

At the start of every match, every player is given the same random Medallion or Boon. During the first few weeks of the mode, the player was also able to obtain additional Medallions through golden Supply Drops.

Medallions cannot be dropped or viewed in any way from within the inventory, and do not drop upon a player's Elimination.

During Chapter 5: Season 3, Medallions (also known as Spoils of War) can be used to open the garages holding bosses' cars, as well as each granting a unique effect:

During Chapter 5: Season 1, all the Medallions (also known as Society Medallions^[1] or Takedown Medallions^[2]) have the same effect. Once a player obtains a Medallion, they will recover Shield over time unconditionally. The amount of recovery received increases with the number of Medallions in a player's possession.

Additionally, a large yellow circle will appear around the player on the minimap, roughly outlining their location for opponents. Obtaining more Medallions makes the outline increasingly smaller and more accurate.

Finally, the Medallions function similarly to Keycards in that they allow the player to open Vaults. They also make the player invisible to all Sentry Cameras and Sentry Turrets.

In Blitz Royale, Medallions (occasionally also referred to as Boss Medallions) each grant a unique effect. Unlike other modes, Medallions in Blitz Royale will not mark the player's location area, and cannot be dropped.

Currently, Medallions are only awarded to every player randomly at the start of every match. Throughout Blitz Royale's lifespan, however, Medallions have been obtainable from Golden Supply Drops.

8th Birthday Medallion		Eliminations have a chance to generate a Birthday Present.	Introduced in v37.31 Vaulted since September 30th 2025 (and unlikely ever to return)

• According to Odyssey, the Society Medallions were made from relics of The Pantheon.
• The Medallions were referred to as "Boss Medallions" in Chapter 5: Season 3 Daily Quests.
• The Medallions from Chapter 5: Season 3 and Chapter 6: Season 1 are the only ones to not include "TDM" in their Item IDs.
  • TDM likely stands for "TakedownMedallion", which is the folder that the Chapter 5: Season 1 medallions are stored in.
• Despite the fact that all other Medallions are still present in the files, the Aspects of the Gods were removed in Chapter 5: Season 3, besides some files related to their UI.
  • The Aspects of the Gods were later readded to the files in Chapter 2 Remix.
• Two unused medallions are listed called "Siphon Medallion (Test)" and "Takedown Medallion" with the Chapter 5: Season 1 medallions
  • These were both likely just for testing, as neither of them have icons and it seems like they were using the Gold Token back bling as their in-game appearance.

• Captain Phasma's Blaster Medallion is the first Medallion since Chapter 5: Season 1 to have a 3D Icon.
• In Update v36.00, Kor's Shrouded Striker Medallion displayed the 3D icon of the Infernal Defenses Medallion for its description, but will have its correct icon for its Inventory slot. This was corrected in Update v36.10.
• On Blitz Royale's launch, every Medallion introduced from Chapter 5: Season 2 onwards (with the exception of collaboration-based medallions) were made obtainable, and their effects could be stacked.
• Blitz Royale's Medallions are special duplicates of every Medallion included in the mode. However, it seems like the Chapter 6: Season 3 Medallions never had their incorrect early/test names updated alongside their original Battle Royale counterparts, causing the names to be different:
  • Infernal Defenses Medallion is Mask Maker Medallion.
  • Shrouded Striker Medallion is Leap Medallion.
• The Jason Voorhees Medallion has been present in the game files since the beginning of Chapter 6: Season 4 and has been updated over the course of the season, but it ultimately went unused.
• An older version of the Infernal Defenses Medallion's Icon was added to the files during Chapter 6: Mini Season 2.
• Kenny's Respawn Token...
  • ...is the first Medallion to be added to Battle Royale's lootpool since Update v37.40.
  • ...is the first Medallion to have a voice line.
  • ...is the first Medallion to be able to be purchased from a Vending Machine.
  • ...is the first consumable Medallion (it is deleted once the player is revived).
  • ...is the second Medallion to not reveal the player's location when picked up.
  • ...is the second Medallion to not appear on the map when on the ground.
  • ...is the second Medallion to be able to spawn multiple times in a match.
  • ...is the first Mythic Medallion.
  • ...is rated the same as a typical Legendary item (5 stars as opposed to a typical Mythic's 6).
  • ...is the only publicly released Medallion to not spin while on the ground.
• Before it was reworked in Chapter 6: Season 4, the Blitz Reveal Medallion was identical in almost every way to Emma Frost's Reveal Medallion:
  • It shared the same folder, model, pickup stinger, icon (), functionality, and had a mostly similar item ID.
  • This also led to it being the only Medallion in all of Blitz Royale that would reveal your location and be dropped upon elimination.
• The Shogun X Medallion's audio files names suggest there are three cloak-deactivation noises (A, B, and C). However, it seems like version B was either never added or removed, as only A and C remain.
• The Night Rose and Shogun X Medallions' pickup stingers are based off of their background music when fighting them as a Boss.
• The 8th Birthday Medallion's stinger, although very similar to the original Birthday Medallion, has a different drum pattern.
• The Carapace Medallion's audio files incorrectly spell Carapace as Caraspace.
• Chapter 5: Season 1 was the only season to display a player's exact location if they collected every possible Medallion, therefore making it also the only season to display the "Your location is exposed" message and icon.
• Megalo Don's Medallion still grants the player unlimited Nitro while knocked, allowing them to bash into players and structures by crawling into them.
• On Chapter 6: Season 4's launch, Medallions in Battle Royale only had two visible slots in the inventory, despite there being three medallions every match.
  • Collecting all three at once would still function properly, and the third slot would appear, however.
• Throughout all of Chapter 6: Mini Season 2, Medallions were visible in the inventory in both Battle Royale and Blitz Royale.
  • This was eventually fixed in Battle Royale upon the launch of Chapter 7: Season 1. Blitz Royale, however, did not have this issue fixed until Update v39.50.
• Despite both Medallions and Boons being unvaulted in Blitz Royale as of Chapter 7: Season 2's launch, they do not appear in the inventory menu whatsoever.
• The Blitz Reveal and Saitama's Medallions are currently the only Medallions without a pickup stinger outside of the generic pickup sound effect.
• The reworked HUD introduced in Chapter 7: Season 1 currently does not properly support the changes caused by two of the three Spoils of War:
  • Megalo Don's Medallion, and the Nitro effect as a whole, does not have its custom reloading texture.
    • Since the Mask Maker and Infernal Defenses Medallions also reuse Nitro's reloading buff, this applies to these Medallions as well.
  • Ringmaster Scarr's Medallion has a custom infinity symbol made out of Nitro that typically replaces the amount of reserve ammunition shown next to weapon names and loaded magazine ammo. However, the current HUD does not support this, and defaults back to the previous HUD's weapon name text.
• In Blitz Royale, the lobby's "starter" Medallions are granted while in the Battle Bus. This means it is impossible to tell which Medallion the player will start the match with, as its effects are not yet visible.
• In Reload, as well as most Creative islands, Medallions were originally visible from within the inventory.
  • This was fixed with the launch of Chapter 2 Remix.
• In Blitz Royale, collecting both the Leap Medallion and Soaring Sprints Boon grants the holder of both extreme control over their midair movement, allowing them to turn on a dime.
