— In-Game Description

The Cluster Clinger is a Consumable in Fortnite Battle Royale, that was added in Chapter 5: Season 1.

Functionality

Functionality[]

The Cluster Clinger is a throwable explosive. Like other throwables, holding the aim button outlines a projectile trail and pressing fire will throw it. When the Cluster Clinger is thrown, it will stick to the first entity or solid surface that it makes contact with (this can include players). After about half a second of sticking to something, the Cluster Clinger will release four smaller explosives rapidly around itself. It then detonates itself. Each explosive deals 30 damage, for up to 150 damage on a single target with exceptional placement.

Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic.
  • If the object a Cluster Clinger is stuck to is destroyed, it will simply fall to the ground and continue counting down to exploding.
  • The small explosives that are released from the Cluster Clinger are produced from the stem of the Cluster Clinger and shot outwards. This means that if the Cluster Clinger is stuck to a wall, the explosives will be launched slightly away from the wall.
  • The Cluster Clinger is likely best used against opponents in closed spaces, such as houses or other buildings, so that they are not able to run out of the blast radius as easily.
  • Each explosive does 75 structure damage, so using them in confined spaces may result in breaking walls and especially floors. In modes with building enabled, they can quickly destroy a player-built structure.
  • In solo game modes, you will take damage from your own Cluster Clingers. If the target has to be engaged at point-blank range, running away from your own Cluster Clinger may be necessary to save yourself. Consider using other methods of elimination at this range.
