Alien Nanites

Functionality[]

Alien Nanites have two uses:

Throwable[]

When thrown, Alien Nanites will create a large rectangular area which acts as an anti-gravity field, identical to the ones at Holly Hatchery. This will last for 30 seconds, and allows players within the area to dash in any given direction in the field, with a very low amount of gravity slowly returning them to the floor. This field is deployed similarly to a Port-A-Fort, with a UI indicator as to where it will land. It is impossible to deploy a glider within the field.

Crafting[]

Alien Nanites act as 'Alien' equivalents to Nuts and Bolts, in that they are used to craft new weaponry in combination with existing weapons. Unlike Nuts and Bolts however, they do not have their own inventory slot, and will take up a standard slot on the player's hotbar. Alien Nanites are used to craft Plasma Cannons, Kymera Ray Guns, Pulse Rifles and Rail Guns. For more information about how this is done, see Crafting.

Additionally, Alien Nanites can be obtained from Mothership Vault Chests. They can also be purchased from undercover Trespassers for 150 Bars each.

Strategy Guide[]

• Alien Nanites can be thrown at opponents to disorient them and make moving more difficult.
• Entering an Alien Biome stops all of your momentum. You can use this to your advantage by throwing it underneath you to prevent fall damage.
• Alien Nanites are usually not a good option to carry outside of early game situations, as many other items are more beneficial to carry. However, obtaining them at any point in the game is excellent, as they allow you to craft powerful weapons.

Chapter 2: Season 7[]

• Update v17.10: Introduced Alien Nanites.
• Content Update v17.30: increased floor loot spawn by 50%.
• Update v17.40: Trespassers will now sell Alien Nanites for 150 Bars instead of 600.
  • Also added to Creative.

Chapter 2: Season 8[]

• Update v18.00: Vaulted Alien Nanites. The Alien Nanite effect in Holly Hatchery was removed. The only place where it is still present is Extra-Terrestrial Estate.

Chapter 3: Season 1[]

• Update v19.00: Removed the Alien Nanite effect as Extra-Terrestrial Estate was also removed.
