Pickaxe is shown by using the Jar Buster pickaxe and having Hold to swap Pickup On, having selected the pickaxe pick up any item which causes you to drop the pickaxe item. When dropped you cannot use your pickaxe at all, If a teammate picks it up you will be unable to use a pickaxe that game unless you use an emote that pulls out a pickaxe like SNIKT-ing Go Time or Hand-Forged.
