The Guardian Shield is a Utility Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was first released in Chapter 4: Season 1.
Functionality
Functionality[]
The Guardian Shield is a rectangular barrier that can be activated by pressing the primary fire button. The shield will start with 100% Energy and will go down by 1 point per second. The shield will block any incoming damage until energy is depleted. The shield will begin to pulse blue and purple as a warning to the player the shield is running out of power.
Upon depletion, the Guardian Shield will take 10 seconds to initiate the recharge sequence, with 1% being regained every second. If the shield is not used for 5 seconds while not having run out, then lost energy will start to be recovered.
The Shield can also be thrown down as portable cover, by throwing the secondary fire button and using the projectile arc to aim it.
