Shockwave Hammer is a Utility Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Chapter 4: Season 1.
Shockwave Hammer has a Mythic variant called The Ageless Champion's Shockwave Hammer.
Functionality
Functionality[]
The Shockwave Hammer has 2 functions:
- Pressing the fire button will cause the character to slam the hammer on the ground, sending a shockwave that damages nearby structures and opponents, launching them away. The Shockwave Hammer will deal additional damage if it slams close to the enemy.
- Pressing the secondary fire button will bounce the player into the air with the hammer, falling with no fall damage. Players can also hold down the button to chain bounces together, using one charge per bounce. The Shockwave Hammer only has 3 bounce charges, each of which recharges with time.
The attack shockwave extends in a 3.9 tile radius and the bounce has a 20 second cooldown per charge. It can store 3 charges at once.

- Fixed an issue where no damage would be dealt unless the player landed a perfect hit, which would instantly eliminate the enemy under any circumstances. It has now been restored to its original state, where a hit deals 75 damage within a 3.9-mile radius, and a perfect hit deals 125 damage.

- Shockwave Hammers can be paired with Rocket Launchers in Build Modes, as a Rocket Launcher can destroy opponents’ structures and leave them vulnerable to a Shockwave Hammer attack.
- The Shockwave Hammer can be used to negate fall damage.
- Shockwave Hammers are useful for quickly getting out of fights in high altitudes.
- The Shockwave Hammer is useful when used for mobility, if its charges are managed appropriately.
- When Shockwaved, strafing in mid-air is a lot more fluid and effective making it harder for you to get hit.

Early Development Footage
- Unlike other cooldown based items, players can carry multiple Shockwave Hammers and bounce for longer, even switching hammers to keep up the momentum.
- Dropped Shockwave Hammers will preserve the ammo charges that they had at the time of dropping, regardless of player.
- Players can attack and bounce on water with the Shockwave Hammer.
- Using the Shockwave Hammer with Balloons can send the player into an infinite spin until they cancel, lose a balloon, or touch the ground.
- Although the Shockwave Hammer is not classified as a weapon, it counts for Challenges related to weapon pickups, such as picking up Rare or above weapons from Chests.
- The Shockwave hammer was found in a Chapter 3: Season 3 developer build.
- Was Rare rarity.
- Uses the Basic Hammer for the look of it.
- Name is Shockwave Mace.

Lore[]
- The Shockwave Hammer is made out of a special material known as Kinetic Ore. When performing the bounce maneuver, the player will continuously spin the Kinetic Ore inside the hammer to kinetically charge it and release the energy through the resulting shockwave.
- The material changes color depending on the remaining charges, going from fully purple at 3 charges to blue at 0.
- Its design is similar to that of The Ageless' armor.
