Wood Stake Shotgun is a Shotgun in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Chapter 4: Season 4.
Wood Stake Shotgun has a Mythic version called High Stakes' Shotgun.
Functionality
Functionality[]
The Wood Stake Shotgun is a semi automatic weapon which fires a single precise, hit-scan stake instead of a spread of pellets like other shotguns. It is accurate at range and has poor hipfire, meaning accuracy is heavily rewarded. It deals 1.5x more damage against the Revenant Kado Thorne Boss and Cube Monsters.
The Wood Stake Shotgun is a Hitscan weapon, but fires a single stake when both aiming down sights and hipfiring. Aiming Down Sights tightens the spread of the stake.
The Wood Stake Shotgun can be reloaded whilst aiming down sights.

- The Wood Stake Shotgun functions very similarly to the Chapter 3 version of the Heavy Shotgun, having a tighter spread when ADS, and dealing high headshot damage, however it has a smaller magazine and a higher max damage range.
- The Wood Stake Shotgun does an extra 1.5x damage against Cube Monsters, making it a solid choice when playing Horde Rush.

- Like the Heavy Shotgun, the Wood Stake Shotgun has a poor hipfire spread, but the Wood Stake Shotgun, arguably, has the worst between the two. A faster firing or more consistent Shotgun would be beneficial in an engagement against an opponent wielding a Wood Stake Shotgun.

- Wood Stake Shotgun has the second highest max range of all shotguns, at around 112 meters. Currently, the Super Shredder holds this record at 150 meters.
- Wood Stake Shotgun is one of 2 shotguns in the game that doesn’t have a Max Damage Cap, the other one being the Heavy Shotgun.
- Wood Stake Shotgun is the only weapon in the game with a different reload, depending on if the weapon was empty when the reload began or not.
- Wood Stake Shotgun was built by Joni the Scarlet, as evidenced by her dialogue when bought from her.
- Wood Stake Shotgun has an unused ability where the more stakes that are in something, the more damage the stakes will do.
