The Modular Hyper SMG is a Submachine Gun in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Chapter 5: Season 1.
The Modular Hyper SMG has a Mythic variant called Valeria's Modular Hyper SMG and an unreleased Exotic variant called Hitscan SMG.
The Modular Hyper SMG has an alternative version called Hyper SMG in the Day of Doom LTM and a Hitscan, unmoddable version named Hyper SMG, which is currently unreleased.

The Modular Hyper SMG is a fast firing, medium damage submachine gun with very little spread.
The Modular Hyper SMG is a Projectile weapon without First Shot Accuracy.
Damage falloff:
- Damage falloff begins at 30 meters (6 tiles).
- Damage decreases down to 90% of its maximum at 50 meters (10 tiles).
- Damage reaches its minimum value of 83% of its maximum at 93 meters (18.6 tiles).

- The Modular Hyper SMG is very good for breaking structures due to its high fire rate.
- The Modular Hyper SMG benefits heavily from the
Red Eye Sight,
Drum Mag,
Laser, and
Muzzle Brake
- The
Red Eye Sight gives the weapon 100 percent accuracy while aiming down sights, making the weapon much easier to use at range - The
Drum Mag increases its magazine capacity from 35 to 44, making the weapon better for spraying enemies at close range - The
Laser increases the weapon's accuracy while hipfiring, allowing for more consistent shots at close range - The
Muzzle Brake reduces the recoil of the weapon, making it easier to use at range.

- The Modular Hyper SMG resembles the Heckler and Koch MP5 with a Society-themed take[1].
- When setting your view distance to medium or below, the Modular Hyper SMG loses its safety switch and paddle mag release.
- This issue isn't present on its Ballistic counterpart.
- While on patrol and before Update v31.00, Guards will hold the Hyper SMG with one hand, as if it were a Pistol.
- As of Update v37.00, the Modular Hyper SMG uses the same reload animation as its Ballistic counterpart in First-Person modes as long as the Default Magazine is equipped.
