- — In-Game Description
The Anvil Rocket Launcher is an Explosive Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale, that was added in Chapter 3: Season 2.
Functionality
Functionality[]
The Anvil Rocket Launcher will lock onto vehicles if the player holds the crosshair of the weapon on one for roughly 1.75 seconds when aiming with it. After this, the player can launch a rocket which moves vertically, and falls straight down onto the vehicle. Players do not need to maintain a lock on the vehicle to hit it.
Players do not need to lock onto an area to fire the weapon, or even aim down the scope with it. Firing the weapon without a lock or aiming will launch the rocket up into the air, and cause it to target wherever the player's crosshairs were aiming when they fired. This location will have a red marker whilst the rocket is moving towards it.
The Anvil Rocket Launcher deals bonus damage to vehicles.
The Anvil Rocket Launcher fires a unique Projectile. This projectile is not affected by gravity, but will always fly into the air before landing on the ground.

Strategy Guide
Strategy Guide[]
|
This section outlines a strategy. |
| Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
- The Anvil Rocket Launcher requires an immense amount of space to fire and hit the target accurately. Firing the weapon in close quarters or indoors can cause you to deal damage to yourself.
- Players may be able to use this to their advantage however, as they can fire into a building with players inside to destroy it quickly, especially since it will detonate incredibly quickly.
- By standing at the same height as your opponent and one build tile away, you can aim the Anvil Rocket Launcher at the bottom of a wall to instantly destroy it. This can be used to claim an opponents' wall as your own or be followed up with a hard-hitting shot from a high-damage shotgun such as the Hammer Pump Shotgun.
- Players can "fire and forget" with the Anvil Rocket Launcher, allowing them enough time to focus on other attacks before the missile lands.
- Players who are attacked with an Anvil Rocket Launcher will be alerted to the incoming missile, giving them enough time to react before being hit. Take this into account before assuming you will land the elimination.
- The thermal view when aiming with the Anvil Rocket Launcher can be very useful for reconnaissance, as you can easily make out the heat signature of an opponent.
Counters[]
- The Anvil Rocket Launcher has a very slow reload, so rushing an opponent while they attempt to reload can be very beneficial.
