Chapter 3: Season 2, also known as Season 20, was the twentieth season of Fortnite: Battle Royale. It started on March 20th 2022 and ended on June 4th 2022 with the Collision Live Event.
The theme of the season was Resistance (stylized as RESISTANCE), and focused on the war between The Seven and the Imagined Order, mainly from The Seven's perspective.

Following the invasion of Apollo by The Last Reality and the arrival of 3 members of The Seven on the Island, the Island was flipped to reveal a brand new Island on it's flipside, consequently destroying The Bridge. The Imagined Order resurfaced from the other side onto the new Island and set their new base on it, before drilling underground and causing severe seismic activity to occur on the Island.

Doctor Slone resurfaced with The Fortress Drill in the Island and officially declared war against The Seven as she and the Imagined Order launched an invasion on Artemis, but not without a fight. Maximilian and 4 other Loopers were some of the many that engaged the Order’s incoming siege drills, riding in Scientist-modified Battle Buses as The Seven and the Loopers launched a resistance against the Imagined Order.
As The Foundation and the Loopers became overwhelmed by the IO’s countermeasures against them—such as jammers that prevented building, reinforcements arrived alongside the one and not the only,Doctor Strange. The party included a returning Iron Man, Black Widow and other members of The Seven—now reunited with The Origin and The Imagined—as the ultimate battle for the Zero Point began.
The Storyline
The Storyline[]
Since the IO Invasion of Artemis, the Imagined Order blocked building, the Resistance had to find new ways of battle on the ground. As they trained for better movement, they worked to disable the IO's jammers and bring back building with the help of The Looper, while completing a Security Sweep on Seven Outposts for The Origin, then collecting a sample of the IO's Titan Tank alloy to create the Armored Battle Bus. Meanwhile, The Looper helps Agent Jones teach Peely how to drive. After Building successfully returned on April 2, The Imagined has The Looper place Wiretaps in Imagined Order locations to spy on them, with little success. The week after, an IO Doomsday Device is discovered under Loot Lake. Then, a few weeks later, the IO's new doomsday device, The Collider, is finally revealed. The Seven begin to prepare for the final battle against the IO, starting by sabotaging the IO and simulating the activation of The Collider. The simulation leads the Seven to discover that the Island is on the brink of being destroyed, prompting The Seven to recommission the Mecha and to attempt to bring The Paradigm back to the Island.

Main Article: Collision Mecha Strike Commander arrives at Reality Zero from the Ice Moon, The Paradigm piloted the mech whilst the Loopers controlled it's weapons. The Imagined Order set up shields around their tanks and their drills, the Mech destroyed the shields, the tanks and the drills. The Fortress activated it's laser strike and striked it at the Mech, the Mech went into Heartbreaker mode and striked a huge red beam at The Fortress and destroyed it. The Imagined Order sent out more of their combat blimps to the Island, the blimps shot out some missiles to the Mech, too many missiles were shot at the Mech and the Mech's systems went critical. The Mech was down, until Jones called Peely to save it, Peely drove in a Slurp Truck and hopped out to wave to the Mech for attention. The Mech picked up the Slurp Truck and drank the Slurp out of the truck, the Mech was overcharged and was ready to fight again. The Mech destroyed more shields, tanks and drills, when the B.R.U.T.Es from Season X got deployed from the Imagined Order, the Mech destroyed even more tanks, drills and shields especially the B.R.U.T.Es. Jones and The Foundation took down the shield surrounding The Collider and the Mech activated it's Blade Strike mode. The Mech striked at the combat blimps with it's blade and then it attempted to destroy The Collider, but then the bottom of The Collider exploded and the Loopers ejected it. The Loopers landed at the bottom of The Collider and they met up with Jones, Slone was there too and tried to stop Jones and the Loopers from stopping them. The Zero Point shifted realities to the real world where the Durr Burger statue was, then it shifted realities to the Star Wars Reality where Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader were doing a lightsaber battle. The Paradigm was working on the Mech and trying to get it back online, she eventually got it online and presumedly eliminated Slone. She helped the Loopers, Jones and The Foundation with the Mech. The Collider's crystals were reaching out to the Zero Point, the Loopers destroyed them and The Collider collapsed. The Paradigm saved the Loopers with the Mech by putting the Mech's hand on top of the Loopers. After this, the Vibin Season started.

- The giant drill causing Earthquakes and sinkholes to happen around the Island has resurfaced with its back door open, it is named The Fortress and it is located west of Loot Lake.
- A campsite in the Happy Camper landmark was destroyed in the process.
- A new communication building and a Blimp docking station have been built above Covert Cavern, now renamed to Command Cavern.
- A Seven workshop, where The Scientist develops weapons for the war, has been constructed in the desert, it is named Synapse Station. It is currently upgrading a Battle Bus. The upgrade is being funded by Loopers through Donation Stations.
- The Foundation's statue at the Mighty Monument has been partially destroyed, its head being thrown on the shore of the beach next to the now broken statue.
- 6 IO Blimps have appeared over 6 named locations on the island, those being: Condo Canyon, Command Cavern, Coney Crossroads, The Daily Bugle, Rocky Reels and Tilted Towers.
- The IO has taken over Tilted Towers, and their logos and symbols have appeared in the buildings. IO Guards now roam around the streets and a Titan Tank is present in there.
- Condo Canyon, Coney Crossroads, The Daily Bugle and Rocky Reels have been taken over as well, with IO flags and outposts appearing in them. IO Guards now roam around these POIs and a Titan Tank is present in all of them.
- Stone paths have been created connecting The Daily Bugle's piece of land to outside the Caldera.
- The former Mole Team drill sites have been replaced with Watch Tower outposts, those being:
- An IO Outpost has been built over the sinkhole of the former Seven Outpost VI, it's named Dispatch Depot.
- Several craters have appeared in the Island due to conflicts between The Seven and IO, these are:
- The Joneses has been slightly reinforced by The Seven, with props from the Sanctuary appearing around it.
- 2 gravestones facing a buried car have appeared next to Loot Lake.
- A crater with a gravestone next to the Desert.
- Multiple IO vault-like metal doors have appeared inside Command Cavern.
- Sandbags and barricades have been set all around the Sanctuary.
- The Stone Family has begun to emerge in the Desert, west of Condo Canyon.
- Bao Bros, Peely and Tomatohead are now hidden in secret rooms within Tilted Towers's brown building, Condo Canyon's apartments and a building next to The Daily Bugle building respectively, with equipment from The Seven inside.
- Guaco and Lil Whip are now hidden in the attic of the houses next to the Taco restaurant in Greasy Grove and Coney Crossroads respectively, with equipment from The Seven inside those rooms.
- A yellow house north of The Devoured has been taken over by IO.
- A bear sitting in a chair appeared inside a bush next to a blue house.
- A container and a pile of tires appeared on top of the Impossible Rock.
- A car crashed east of Coney Crossroads.

- Seven Sentries have begun to battle the IO forces at The Daily Bugle in order to reclaim the POI.
- Huntmaster Saber has moved from Command Cavern to IO Airship - Daily.
- The Seven's territory has expanded, and Outpost Omega has been destroyed and taken over by The Seven.
- Another container and pile of tires have appeared on top of the Impossible Rock.
- The Stone Family have re-emerged from the sand, the Stone Man is helping the Stone Dog leave the sand while the Stone Woman is running to the Stone Kid.
- Another car crashed east of Coney Crossroads.
- A bear sitting on a chair appeared inside a bush southeast of Puddle Pond.
- A cone has appeared on top of 2 cacti in Colossal Cactus.

- IO Airship - Daily has crash landed in the ocean, it is now named Daily Rubble.
- Seven Sentries have begun to battle the IO forces at Condo Canyon in order to reclaim the POI.
- Huntmaster Saber has moved to IO Airship - Canyon.
- The Seven's territory has expanded, and Outpost Dash has been destroyed and taken over by The Seven.

- The Seven won the battle against IO at Rocky Reels and have reclaimed the POI.

- Choppa Funding Stations have appeared on all The Seven Outposts.
- IO Airship - Rocky has crash landed on the ground, it is now named Rocky Wreckage.

- Another container has appeared on top of Impossible Rock, making it resemble the flag of Ukraine.

- Several smoking craters appeared in the fields east of Tilted Towers and into the city.
- Multiple buildings have been completely destroyed in Tilted Towers while the clock tower has only been mildly damaged.

- The Imagined Order has built a dam east of Loot Landing, creating a base surrounding their newly built Doomsday Machine, The Collider.
- Huntmaster Saber and Doctor Slone have moved to The Collider.
- Due to the dam, the rivers flowing through Sleepy Sound and the Sanctuary have dried.
- A room with a Holotable and vents locked through a metal door has appeared inside Command Cavern.
- Several small The Seven outposts have been made around the craters near Tilted Towers.
- The Star Destroyer has left alongside the Stormtrooper Checkpoints.
- Another container has appeared on top of Impossible Rock.
- Another crashed car was added to the Car wreckage east of Coney Crossroads.
- The Stone Family has crossed the road and have moved to the outskirts of the Jungle near the Desert and started building a farm in there.

June 4th 2022
4:00 PM ET
- The Mech, piloted by The Paradigm, arrived in the Island from The Ice Moon, destroying IO's army of Tanks and Drills including The Fortress, before being overwhelmed by B.R.U.T.E.s and Blimps. Peely then arrived with a Slurp Truck, which the Mech used to heal itself, helping it destroy the remainder of IO's forces. As The Collider's shield goes down, seismic activity causes the area around The Collider to cave in just as the Mech was going to destroy it, causing the Mech to fall and go offline. After fighting more IO troops, Agent Jones and The Foundation jump into The Zero Point, while we destroyed The Collider's detonator crystals, causing it to collapse. (See Collision)
- After this, the screen went black, which was immediately followed by a view of a Mushroom area with Lo-fi playing on the background with "To Be Continued..." on the bottom right corner, which made the game unplayable.

- Building was supposed to return on March 29th, but the playlists with building remained disabled until April 2nd.
- This was the second Fortnite season to start on a Sunday, the first being Chapter 3: Season 1.
- No teasers were released for the season, potentially due to the war theme coinciding with the 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine.
- This was the first Fortnite season to vault Building (excluding Arena and Team Rumble).
- Players could still get Materials in a Glitched Vending Machine at the start of the season, but it was hot-fixed after a few days.
- Though this was the fourth season to be war themed after Chapter 2: Season 2, Chapter 2: Season 4, and Chapter 2: Season 7, Resistance focuses on the premise of tactical modern warfare.
- This season removed the 2nd Loading screen.
- This is the first season to use the third health bar, which was used until Chapter 7: Season 1.
