Disambiguation - Icon - Fortnite WikiFor information on the Vehicle with a very similar function, see Salvaged B.R.U.T.E..

Few suits make you feel as powerful as a mech suit does. In this two-person vehicle, players can control its movement while their partner controls its firepower. Those feeling extra adventurous can operate it solo by switching between moving and shooting!
— v10.00 Patch Notes[1]

The B.R.U.T.E. is a Vehicle in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was introduced in Season X.

Functionality

Functionality[]

The B.R.U.T.E. is a large bipedal mech which requires two players to operate properly. It has a driver, who controls the movement of the mech, and a gunner who operates the weaponry. The driver is able to move, stomp the ground to deal damage, leap forwards, and dash. The gunner operates a multi missile launcher and a powerful shotgun. The Gunner can also spend 75 Materials to overcharge the shield, giving the mech some extra HP temporarily. Both players can be shot out of a B.R.U.T.E. without destroying the vehicle, with the Gunner being the most vulnerable at the top, as to why they can create a shield for protection.

The B.R.U.T.E.'s shotgun is a Hitscan weapon that fires a spread of 5 pellets.

The B.R.U.T.E.'s Missile Launcher is a Projectile weapon that can be charged to fire multiple missiles at once for a maximum of 6 missiles at a time.

Both the driver and gunner can self destruct the mech, destroying it in a large explosion after 5 seconds.

Obtained[]

The B.R.U.T.E. would spawn from the sky at the beginning of a match. Several would appear on the map at one time, with markers on the minimap to show their location, regardless of if they were being operated by enemy players.

Strategy Guide

Strategy Guide[]

Calculated - Emote - Fortnite This section outlines a strategy.
Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic.
  • The B.R.U.T.E. is an incredibly powerful vehicle and a very good counter to any player who is not equipped with a high damage weapon, capable of dealing over 1000 damage in a short time. However, if the enemy is accurate they can shoot you out of the mech.
  • A good strategy for countering a B.R.U.T.E. is to hop into the other seat and detonate the mech. This forces the opponent to get out or be eliminated.
  • Although the B.R.U.T.E. is powerful, it is only strong when two players operate it. Without good communication or with only one pilot, the B.R.U.T.E. is ineffective at eliminating enemies.
  • The B.R.U.T.E. is an excellent vehicle for quick traversal, as its leap and dash abilities provide great mobility.

Trivia

Trivia[]

B.R.U.T.E.[]

  • The device used for scanning B.R.U.T.E. parts at Dusty Depot was called "RocketBits".[2] This could mean that they were made from parts of The Visitor's Rocket or that he was looking for parts to build it.
  • Players were able to emote within The B.R.U.T.E. It even had a built-in Emote called B.R.U.T.A.L. Dab.
    • If a B.R.U.T.E emoted with a prop, for example, Hoop Master, it makes the prop much bigger.
  • The B.R.U.T.E., counting both the original version and its Salvaged B.R.U.T.E. variant, was present in both Season X and Chapter 2: Season 8, the ending seasons of, respectively, Chapter 1 and 2, and it was vaulted with the start of the new Season and Chapter.
  • The B.R.U.T.E.s made a cameo in the Collision Event. Several one manned B.R.U.T.E.s were used by the Imagined Order along with Titan Tanks to defend The Collider during the event. Players could destroy them with the Mecha's weaponry. Another B.R.U.T.E. was in the underground part of The Collider, and was destroyed after The Foundation threw a portable generator at it, knocking it off balance and crashing into multiple missiles being stored beside The Collider's legs.
    • The Paradigm also states that she can't stand B.R.U.T.E.s. This could have been a reference to the general hatred towards this vehicle from the community.

Ostrich Weapon[]

  • The Ostrich Weapon was a Shotgun first obtained in Fortnite: Creative. It has a fire-rate identical the Combat Shotgun, and uses the Chapter 1 model and icon of the High Tier Pump Shotgun. The weapon was Rare and was later identified to be an unreleased weapon used for the B.R.U.T.E.'s shotgun weapon. As such, it is technically a separate weapon, but serves only as technicality when implementing the B.R.U.T.E.'s weaponry.
