Ballistic Shield

Functionality[]

Ballistic Shield allows the player to block incoming shots and perform a Shield Bash while sprinting, which deals damage and inficts knockback on an opponent. The Ballistic Shield has infinite health, but if it takes 150 or more damage, it will be temporarily knocked from in front of the holder and stun them for 2 seconds.

The Pistol included with the Ballistic Shield is a Projectile weapon without First Shot Accuracy.

Usage[]

• The Ballistic Shield's block can be an effective counter to a sniper rifle, as most sniper rifles cannot stun the shield in a single shot.
• If taking fire while using the Ballistic Shield, try to take cover behind something else to prevent the shield's block from breaking.
• The Ballistic Shield's ramming attack can be used to knock opponents into the storm or breach into opponent's structures. Keep in mind that landing this attack will stun you for a brief period of time.
• Ballistic Shield can only take damage, and therefore stagger its user, while they are either Aiming Down Sights or Sprinting.
  • When not Aiming Down Sights, you can crouch and face perpendicular to the enemies so the shield is facing them, blocking most of your body.
  • This trick also applies when reloading the Ballistic Shield's pistol, just with the shield itself still being at the front.
• Ballistic Shield might make Business Turrets more menacing if you managed to throw one before engaging. Since the enemy cannot eliminate you shortly, they will have to disengage or take a lot of turret damage.

Countering[]

• The Ballistic Shield can be easily countered by using a Grapple Blade. Grappling onto an opponent using a Grapple Blade and using its melee attack will instantly break the shield's block.
• The Ballistic Shield doesn't protect its user from explosions, so using Cluster Clingers or Shield Breaker EMPs can be an effective strategy for weakening a Ballistic Shield user.
• The Ballistic Shield can counter another Ballistic Shield by ramming into someone shielding. This will not only knock your opponent away but also stun them, allowing you to switch to another weapon and shoot at them while they soar through the skies.
• Since the Ballistic Shield counts as a structure, weapons with higher structure damage like the Modular Hyper SMG and Spire Rifle are an effective counter.
