Howler Claws are an Uncategorized Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was introduced in Chapter 3: Season 4 for Fortnitemares 2022.
Functionality
Functionality[]
Howler Claws are Melee based and allow the player to swing in a small radius around them to deal damage. Players can press the jump button twice to dash forwards, which costs 20% of the player’s stamina. You can also press the attack button to slash in the air. Pressing the aim button allows players to mark opponents in a radius around them for an extended period of time. Players can only hold one Howler Claws at a time.
Howler Claws deal 35 damage per swing and can attack roughly once per second. Players can use the recon ability every 20 seconds, and the ability is used instantly upon obtaining them via the Alternation Altar.

- Players gain a unique head cosmetic when the item is in their inventory.
- The emote that is done to obtain the Howler Claws is Clean Groove, but it has different music.
- Unlike a Recon Scanner or Shakedown, players are not marked with an icon above their head, but with a purple mist.
- The Howler Claws' animations were for the Shadow Demons at Demon's Dojo.
