EMP Stealth Camo

Functionality[]

The EMP Stealth Camo grants the player near-invisibility and thus increased stealth. Activating this item will produce a sparking sound and bright flash, then the player's Outfit and Back Bling will become transparent as long as the item is held - all that will be visible is a slightly green-tinted silhouette. The player may move via walking, running, sliding, and et cetera while invisible.

After 20 seconds, or whenever the player switches to another weapon, the EMP Stealth Camo will deactivate. When this happens, the player will become visible again and produce a blast with identical effect to an Shield Breaker EMP within a small radius for 10s. They will then be free to fire other weapons or use consumables.

Once deactivated, the EMP Stealth Camo cannot be activated again for 30 seconds.

Obtaining[]

As of Update v29.00, EMP Stealth Camo cannot currently be obtained in Battle Royale and Zero Build as it has been vaulted.

• Activating the EMP Stealth Camo is best done behind cover, as being seen while activating it will give opponents a much better idea of where you are.
• While the EMP Stealth Camo is very good at hiding you visually, it does nothing to dampen any audio cues you may give opponents by running or jumping. An intelligent opponent may still be able to find you from these cues alone. The reverse is true: you may not be able to see an opponent with their own EMP Stealth Camo, but you will likely hear them!
• The EMP Stealth Camo can be used for both offensive and defensive play.
  • Offensive play may take the form of a blitz attack - sneaking up to a player, decloaking next to them to deal damage to their shield, then blasting away with a Shotgun or other close-ranged weapon. This sort of attack is very difficult for an unsuspecting opponent to anticipate. In Zero Build, the blast deals enough damage to break through an opponent's Overshield. Which can prove useful if the opportunity presents itself.
  • Defensive play may include taking temporary cover, then cloaking yourself while being pursued by an opponent. From there you may either find another hiding spot or go a different direction entirely. This is an especially effective strategy in Zero Build, where an inability to build your own cover results in being attacked easier.
• For concealment uses, since EMP Stealth Camo turn players into green-tinted silhouette, it is best used in a greenish environment, like a forest or a grass field.

Trivia[]

• The EMP (electromagnetic pulse) is not something that the Stealth Camouflage has in the Metal Gear series. It is instead a reference to how Solid Snake's malfunctioned at the beginning of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
• EMP stands for "Electromagnetic Pulse" so it's description says: Triggers an Electromagnetic Pulse pulse when deactivating.
