The Foundation's Rift Rifle is a Marksman Rifle in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was introduced in Chapter 7: Season 2.

The Foundation's Rift Rifle is the Exotic version of the Vector 7 DMR.

Functionality

Functionality[]

The Foundation's Rift Rifle is an automatic, slow firing marksman rifle. It is equipped with a custom 2x magnification scope. It can be used like a Vector 7 DMR regularly, and can be charged up to spawn a Rift where the bullet lands. The Rift is not permanent and immediately starts to disappear even if it has not yet been used.

The Foundation's Rift Rifle is a Hitscan weapon with First Shot Accuracy enabled.

The Foundation's Rift Rifle can be aimed down sights while reloading, aimed down sights while in midair and has Checkpoint Reload mechanic.

The Foundation's Rift Rifle first appeared during The End Live Event, being briefly used by The Foundation and afterward only appearing in his Outfit render.
- Since then, the weapon's design has been updated with slightly different details and coloration.
The Foundation's Rift Rifle's scope is considered a Weapon Mod.
- The scope's internal name is Scope Foundation DMR and is based on the P2X Optic, even reusing its icon.
- The scope's design (as in the exterior model) also evokes some similar elements in design as the P2X Optic.
The Foundation's Rift Rifle is the second DMR to not use Medium Bullets, as it uses Heavy Bullets like a standard Sniper Rifle. The first was the Ex-Caliber Rifle, which uses Shells.
With Update v40.10 The Foundation's Rift Rifle has turned hitscan, making it the first marksman rifle to be hitscan.
