The Sweeper Shotgun is a Shotgun in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was introduced in Chapter 6: Season 4.

Functionality

Functionality[]

The Sweeper Shotgun is a fast firing, long ranged shotgun with a large capacity and uniquely horizontal spread, similar to the EvoChrome Shotgun.

The Sweeper Shotgun is a Hitscan weapon, that fires a spread of 12 pellets when both aiming down sights and hipfiring. Aiming down sights tightens the spread of pellets horizontally, but slightly increases vertical spread.

The Sweeper Shotgun can be reloaded whilst aiming. It can be aimed down sights while in midair, but only in modes that have this mechanic enabled.

The Sweeper Shotgun, similar to the EvoChrome Shotgun, benefits greatly from upper torso shots due to it's odd horizontal pellet spread.
The Sweeper Shotgun is also very rewarding of headshots, an odd trait for an automatic Shotgun, so aim high in an engagement.

Using a Shotgun with a higher headshot potential such as the Sentinel Pump Shotgun in a fight can be beneficial against an opponent wielding the Sweeper Shotgun, assuming you can aim well.

The Sweeper Shotgun has a small display screen located above the receiver, which shows a smiley face and a few icons.
- This part of the weapon was probably inspired by the Kalashnikov Group's MP-155 Ultima.
The rotating section of the Sweeper Shotgun's magazine disappears when the weapon is dropped on the ground.
Initially, the Update v37.00 patch notes said that one of the Queens drops a Mythic Tactical Shotgun instead of the Sweeper Shotgun. This was corrected shortly after.
