Outlaw Shotgun

Functionality[]

The Outlaw Shotgun is a weapon with very low range and a very small magazine. The purpose of the Outlaw Shotgun is to deal high amounts of damage in very close situations.

The Outlaw Shotgun is a hitscan weapon, that fires a spread of 12 pellets when both aiming down sights and hipfiring. Aiming down sights tightens the spread of pellets.

The Outlaw Shotgun reloads both shells at once.

Damage falloff:

• Damage falloff begins at 7 meters (1.4 tiles).
• Damage decreases down to 92% of its maximum at 10 meters (2 tiles).
• Damage steadily decreases down to 70% of its maximum at 15 meters (3 tiles).
• It deals damage until 29 meters.

• The Outlaw Shotgun can be very powerful in close quarters engagements, as it can take out an opponent with both shots fairly consistently.
• Although functioning almost identically to the Double Barrel Shotgun, it actually has more effective range compared to both the Sentinel Pump Shotgun and the Twinfire Auto Shotgun, making it very comfortable to use.
• The wide hipfire spread makes the Outlaw Shotgun a very good weapon for newer players who are looking to get better, as its somewhat forgiving but nowhere near as forgiving as the Twinfire Auto Shotgun.
• The Outlaw Shotgun has the distinction of being one of the only double-barrel shotguns in the game that can compete with pump-action shotguns, having a high headshot cap of 180 in Legendary rarity, only 5 damage lower than a Pump Shotgun of the same rarity, while also firing faster and reloading faster.
• Despite it's small 2 round magazine, the Outlaw Shotgun has a ridiculously fast reload time for both shells, one of the fastest in the Shotgun category, so worrying about ammo conservation isn't a huge issue.

Counters[]

• Due to the small magazine, the Outlaw Shotgun will need to be constantly reloaded between fights, so using a Shotgun with a larger magazine or a fast-firing SMG can be beneficial against an opponent wielding the Outlaw Shotgun.
• Although having good range, because of it still having a wide spread, it is advised keep distance between yourself and an opponent wielding the Outlaw Shotgun to minimize damage taken in an engagement.
