Paint Launchers are an Explosive Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Update v12.00.
Functionality

Paint Launcher[]
Paint Launchers shoot out grenades of Orange or Purple Paint, which explodes into its respective color upon impact with a surface. If its projectile hits a player, it will briefly color them the color of the respective weapon.
Cinematic Paint Launcher[]
Cinematic Paint Launchers shoot out the current cinematic video that is playing on the Llama-tron device. If no video is playing, it will be black.

Paint Launchers use 
Energy Cells and do not deal damage to players/structures. They are not capable of inflicting headshots to players. The Creative Mode version has 36 ammo while the Party Royale version has only 6 ammo.
