The Boom Bow is a Bow in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Season 8.

Boom Bow has a Mythic version called TNTina’s Ka-Boom Bow.

Functionality

Functionality[]

The Boom Bow is a bow which needs to be charged up in order to fire. The longer the bow is charged, the further the player can launch the projectile, but the damage is the same regardless of charge. When the bow is charged, or in the process of, the player gets an indicator arc similar to a Grenade that shows where the projectile will land and the arc it will follow. The projectile launched is a very fast explosive arrow with a small range of splash damage.

The Boom Bow uses a Fast Moving Projectile. It has a targeting system which shows the player the drop of the projectile, and where it will land. There is no damage falloff on the Boom Bow's projectiles.

The Boom Bow cannot be reloaded whilst aiming.

Strategy Guide

Strategy Guide[]

Calculated - Emote - Fortnite This section outlines a strategy.
Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic.
  • The Boom Bow can be used to hit enemies around structures due to its splash damage.
  • Using the weapon's arc can be much easier than hitting a player at long range with a Sniper Rifle due to it being much easier to judge bullet drop.
  • Since the Boom Bow uses Shells - Ammunition - Fortnite Shells rather than arrows, this means that you can have up to 151 shots available to fire with the Boom Bow. Because of this, you don't need to worry about how much reserve you have with the Boom Bow in most situations.
  • The Boom Bow deals decent damage to structures. Because of this, you can use the Boom Bow to destroy freshly-built structures.
  • Despite its explosive properties, the Boom Bow will only damage you if you hit directly under yourself. Because of this, the Boom Bow can be used effectively at close ranges, although this is not ideal.
  • The Boom Bow does an insane amount of damage to vehicles, doing over 300 damage per hit: combined with how quick you can load another arrow, you can easily take a vehicle out in 2 or three shots.

Counters[]

  • Taking cover behind a high health structure can be beneficial when engaged with an opponent wielding a Boom Bow.
  • The Boom Bow can easily be overwhelmed at close range, so staying close to an enemy and using a high fire rate weapon such as an SMG can be beneficial against an opponent wielding a Boom Bow.
