Blitz Grapple Blade

Functionality[]

The Blitz Grapple Blade is a multi-functional tool used to traverse the map quickly by grappling to different surfaces and swinging towards them. It can also be used offensively to attack opponents.

The Blitz Grapple Blade has a unique triangular reticle. As the player gets close to a surface or opponent, the reticle will open up and a blue inverted triangle will appear. When this is present, the Blitz Grapple Blade can be used by pressing the aim button. This will launch the Blitz Grapple Blade forward quickly and it will attach itself to the surface it was aimed at. The player will be launched towards the target at a high rate of speed. The player is immune to fall damage while grappling and while falling after grappling.

Using this grapple effect depletes a charge from the blade. After 13 seconds, the blade regains one charge. It has four charges.

Conversely, when the fire button is pressed, the Blitz Grapple Blade becomes a weapon with different sets of attacks. If the player is grounded, the blade will slash outwards in front of the player in a wide arc. The fire button may be pressed again quickly for another slash that does a bit less damage. Slashing in this manner will have the player take a step forward, giving the blade a bit of extra range. If the player is airborne or grappling, using the attack will cause the player to slash in a complete circle around themselves. This hitbox is not rigged to an animation; it is instantaneous.
