- Much like most other sniper rifles, players should aim above targets at long ranges to compensate for bullet drop. When using the Sniper Optic, each tick mark roughly equates to 50m.
- A headshot from any rarity of this weapon overkills a player - dealing 250+ damage, making it good at incapacitating unaware, stationary enemies.
- Stay moving or remain well hidden if you are not ready to fire back.
- A viable weapon mod combo for the Reaper Modular Sniper Rifle is the
Thermal Optic,
Drum Mag,
Angled Foregrip, and
Suppressor.
- The
Thermal Optic can help track enemies in medium and long range due to its thermal vision. It also doesn't have any sniper glare, so enemies may not be able to tell if the player is using a sniper. - The
Drum Mag increases the magazine size from 3 to 5. There are also low differences between the reload time of the
Drum Mag and the
Speed Mag, making the
Speed Mag almost pointless. - The
Angled Foregrip reduces the time it takes to aim down sights, making it good for quick scopes. - The
Suppressor removes the "blip" on the compass when the weapon is fired. It also lowers the firing sound of the weapon, making it harder for enemies to tell where the sniping is coming from.

Thermal Optic can be a good alternative for players with high controller sensitivity as the
Sniper Scope swings around while aiming and could cost unskilled players a clear shot. Additionally, the
Thermal Optic has no sniper glare, which nets players using one a good abundance of time when lining up a shot if one is not comfortable out right removing the scope. - The Sniper has very high bullet drop, so using low zoom sights like
Red Eye Sight,
Holo-13 Optic, or the
Thermal Optic makes it feel like it has low bullet drop than the
Sniper Scope. The
Sniper Scope also has glare while the others don't. The
Thermal Optic is better at medium to long range than the sniper optic.

- Please take note that currently, a visual bug exists in Creative/UEFN where the crosshairs when Scoped in with any of the 4 available scopes (and likely the P2X if you have access to one from a saved loadout prior to the Optics removal from the Mod Bench) is rather highly skewed upwards, rather than being centered. Due to this, it may be significantly harder to judge your shots with the Reaper than it used to be at longer ranges.

- In Creative, the Reaper Modular Sniper Rifle will always spawn equipped with a
Sniper Scope by default. - The Reaper Modular Sniper Rifle is:
- The only Sniper Rifle available to still have a crosshair when it is modded with a Sniper Optic.
- The first Mod Compatible weapon that can appear with an extra mod. For instance, an Uncommon Reaper Modular Sniper Rifle that spawns with a Sniper Optic has a chance to have an additional mod as opposed to the traditional one mod sported by all other Uncommon weapons if the Optic isn't the randomly selected option.
