The Unstable Frostfire Shotgun is a Shotgun in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was introduced in Chapter 6: Season 3.

Unstable Frostfire Shotgun is an Exotic variant of the Sentinel Pump Shotgun.

Functionality

Functionality[]

The Unstable Frostfire Shotgun is a pump-action shotgun, meaning it is slow firing, very damaging, and best suited to close quarters combat.

When fired, the Unstable Frostfire Shotgun will cycle between either giving the user a Pepper Effect or a Blizzard Effect to the enemy on a successful hit, both of which will last 3 seconds. What effect will trigger on the next shot is visible on the front end of the barrel. If the barrel has an icy texture, it will slow down, if the barrel has a fiery texture, it will give a speed boost.

The Unstable Frostfire Shotgun is a Hitscan weapon, firing a spread of 12 pellets when both aiming down sights and hipfiring. Aiming down sights tightens the spread of pellets.

The Unstable Frostfire Shotgun can be aimed down sights while reloading and aimed down sights in midair, but only in modes that have these mechanics enabled.

Unstable Frostfire Shotgun has the exact stats of a Legendary Sentinel Pump Shotgun, with the exception of structure damage.
Unlike its original counterpart, the Unstable Frostfire Shotgun does not function in the First Person Camera Device in Creative.
For some reason, the Unstable Frostfire Shotgun is equipped with a Shotgun Speed Mag Weapon Mod seen on the Modular Combat Shotgun and Modular Hammer Pump Shotgun.
- It has no effect on the weapon's reload speed however and it momentarily disappears while reloading.
Unstable Frostfire Shotgun's icon is missing Iron Sights.
