Strategy[]

Calculated - Emote - Fortnite This section outlines a strategy.
Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic.
  • Communication was the core of Delulu, whether it was with your Squad or other players. Those who rarely communicated were more likely to attack you when you least expected it. As such, players were encouraged to eliminate those who did not have an open mic.
  • If players found a Supply Drop or a Chest that required multiple players, they could still use Chickens to open them.
  • The O.X.R. Rifle was the main long-range weapon of this mode, and players were advised to pick it up whenever possible.
  • Ammo could be tight on occasion in this mode, so players were advised to communicate with their team when they ran low.
  • Rifts of any kind, Launchpads, Shockwaves, and Grapplers were necessary for rotating and getting around. Players were encouraged to make sure these items were distributed to everyone on their team.
  • If players revealed they had a valuable item via mic, others were advised to consider either teaming with them or taking them out.
  • Delulu was a mode built around voice chat, and players were encouraged to use it. Getting to know teammates’ play styles and skill levels helped form strategies when they were needed. Players were advised to almost never take out a teammate unless it was absolutely necessary.
  • One way to win Delulu was to collect a large amount of white healing items throughout the match and then use them to out-heal the Storm’s damage once the safe zone completely disappeared. Players were advised to stay away from enemy players, however, as there was never any guarantee they would choose friendship over an attack.
    • This strategy worked especially well with Floppers, Chug Jugs, and Med-Mist Smoke Grenades.
      • Because Floppers were much easier to obtain, players were advised to fish at the pond near Carmine Lodge or in the river under Hiker’s Haven. It was also important to remember that a fishing hole was not required to obtain Floppers—as long as there was water, they could be caught by fishing.
      • Players were encouraged to search every chest they could find for Chug Jugs and Med-Mist Smoke Grenades. The latter could also be found as floor loot, but it was not very common.
    • An optimal loadout for a Delulu heal-off play was as follows:
      1. Shockwave Grenades/Rift-To-Go/Lawless Rift Launcher: Since opponents were likely to fight, a quick way to escape an unintended encounter was necessary to avoid elimination
      2. Med-Mist Smoke Grenade(s)/Floppers: These items were most optimal for the heal-off, as they allowed players to hide from enemies if they tried to shoot them. Additionally, the health they provided could stack with other healing items in case players did not have enough health.
      3. Chug Jug/Floppers: Chug Jugs were unique for their ability to recover both health and shield, rather than just one aspect of HP. If players were lucky enough to find one, it was recommended to save it for the heal-off. Beforehand, it should only be used if they lacked a significant amount of shield and there were no other shield items nearby.
      4. Friend Zone Bubble: If players were unable to escape hostile opponents, this item could and would protect them from receiving any kind of damage as long as they remained within its radius. They were advised to try to make amends with whoever was attacking them while it was active and to be watchful of the bubble itself for the flashing effect signaling the end of its duration.
