Overview
This article is about Fortnite's permanent gamemodes. For limited-time gamemodes, see Limited Time Modes.Core Gamemodes in Fortnite are modes which are created by Epic Games with the intention of them being available permanently (outside of Server Downtime). They typically receive regular content updates, such as Seasons in Battle Royale and themed updates in Lego Fortnite Odyssey. It is also common for Core Gamemodes to have a dedicated pass; for example, Fortnite Festival has the Music Pass. Core Gamemodes are found and selected in Discover.

Playlists
Playlists[]
Playlists are the many game modes that players can queue into in the lobby inside of Fortnite. Playlists can either be user-generated, made using Fortnite Creative or UEFN, or made by Epic Games themselves. Playlists can be selected in Discover.
