Trivia[]

• The weapon is very similar to the Legendary Zapotron in Save the World, and speculative statistics are based on the weapon's function in that mode.
• The Zapotron may have been inspired by the Tau Cannon from the videogame Half-Life.
• In an AMA on Reddit in 2019, when asked if the Zapotron would ever return, the official response was simply "The what? 🤔🌩".
• It is currently tied with the Guided Missile for longest time for to get added to Creative, taking 2,315 days since Creative was released.

Cameo Appearances[]

• In Update v17.40, the Zapotron made its first appearance in Fortnite since its removal.
  • It could be seen vaulted in The Bridge in the Impostors Gamemode.
  • It was inaccessible, and appeared in a similar fashion to the items in The Vault during The Unvaulting Event.
• In Float to Artemis, the Zapotron made another cameo appearance as debris that has a chance of appearing drifting in the ocean.
• In Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War Issue 1, Doctor Slone could be seen using the Zapotron to fight The Seven in the comic. It glowed yellow and could have been fired rapidly.
• In Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War Issue 2, Slone could have been seen wielding it again in one page while blasting Thor.
• The Zapotron can also be seen being wielded by the T-60 Power Armor Outfit in the T-60 Power Armor Loading Screen, making it 9 seasons since its last appearance.
  • This Zapotron is visually slightly different, as it contains an opening on both sides, and lacks some small details present on the original.
• The description of the Zapotron is identical to its Save the World counterpart, even mentioning its ability to deal "energy damage which is fairly effective against all elemental enemies."
