— In-Game Description

The Guided Missile is an Explosive Weapon in Fortnite OG that was added in OG Chapter 1: Season 3.

Functionality

Functionality[]

The Guided Missile is a unique firing weapon, in that when it is fired, control is taken away from the player and given to the rocket itself, hence the name. The missile is then guided to its target by player control, which can be moved in any direction, but always moving forward. The rocket will explode after a number of seconds, indicated by a bar across the screen. Like the Rocket Launcher, its rocket can also damage the player who fired it if they are within the explosion radius. The rockets deal more damage to structures than to players.

The Guided Missile is a Slow Moving Projectile Weapon. The Projectile is controlled by the player, and can be slowly maneuvered before exploding.

There is no damage falloff on the Guided Missile's projectiles.

Trivia

Trivia[]

  • The Guided Missile's appearance is very similar to the M72 LAW or AT4, both weapons which do not have heat seeking Missiles in real life.
  • Its function was very similar to the Valkyrie Rockets in Call of Duty: Black Ops. They function the same way, with a player controlled missile on a timer, launched from a rocket launcher.
  • The Guided Missile has an unused function where if the player controlling the missile right clicks, it instantly detonates the missile.
  • DO NOT USE RC Rocket uses the Noble Launcher as its appearance and shoots the rocket that is used in the Rocket Rodeo Emote out.
  • It is currently tied with the Zapotron for longest time to get added to Creative, taking 2,315 days since Creative was released.
  • While every other weapons in Fortnite OG uses the Figment ID, the Guided Missile is the only weapon that does not uses it.
