• The Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle can used as a replacement for a Sniper Rifle or Marksman Rifle, especially if you are not good at compensating for bullets affected by gravity. Using this weapon allows the player to aim directly at targets and at least deal some damage.
• Carrying a Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle and a shorter-ranged Assault Rifle or a pistol with a high fire-rate can be a good strategy, as the Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle can be used for long-range while the other rifle or Pistol can be used for medium-range engagements or as a follow-up to a shotgun.
• The Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle's small magazine size of 15 means that every shot counts. It's best to tap-fire or fire in short bursts to regularly reset recoil.
• Its relatively low DPS and semi-auto firing makes it unsuitable for destroying buildings at anything below very long ranges.
• It is generally not advisable to use the gun without aiming down sights, as it is extremely inaccurate if fired without aiming.
• Make sure to regularly reload, as the low capacity of the Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle is very unforgiving.
• The thermal scope can be useful for times when vision is clouded, such as being in the storm or underwater.
• You can combine this weapon with a Smoke Grenade, and use its thermal scope to spot other players. Other players will not be able to shoot you as accurately as they cannot see you.
• The Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle will highlight Chests, Supply Drops, enemy heat signatures, lit Cozy Campfires and Supply Llamas with a yellow color making them easier to see against the blue that it shows everything else as.

Counters[]

• Snipers can be very useful to counter a Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle, as they can kill a player in one shot before they can fire. They also have more zoom on their scopes, allowing for longer shots.
• Close range engagements are very hard to win with a Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle. Take advantage of this by closing the gap with builds or natural cover and swapping to a Submachine Gun or Shotgun.
