The Tactical Assault Rifle is an Assault Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was introduced in Chapter 7: Season 1.
The Tactical Assault Rifle is the Hitscan, unmoddable version of the Modular Tactical Assault Rifle.
Functionality

The Tactical Assault Rifle is fully automatic, low damage assault rifle with a tight spread and low recoil.
The Tactical Assault Rifle is a Hitscan weapon with First Shot Accuracy enabled.
Damage falloff:
- Damage falloff begins at 30 meters (6 tiles).
- Damage decreases down to 90% of its maximum at 55 meters (11 tiles).
- Damage reaches its minimum value of 85% of its maximum at 100 meters (20 tiles).
The Tactical Assault Rifle can be reloaded whilst aiming, aimed down sights while in midair and has the Checkpoint Reload mechanic.

- The Tactical Assault Rifle is best treated like an SMG-AR hybrid, with the fire rate to take on SMGs at close range, but the damage to take on mid-range fights as well. It also uses Light Bullets like an SMG does.
- The Suppressor that comes prefixed on the Tactical Assault Rifle will help with both accuracy and stealth, as the reduced muzzle flash allows for less visual clutter on your screen when firing, and also keeps you off enemy compasses, allowing you to have the element of surprise.
- The Tactical Assault Rifle is the type of AR that's best used either in a 2-weapon loadout due to its versatility, or as a close-mid range weapon paired with a hard hitting Shotgun such as the Iron Pump Shotgun, and a DMR or a Sniper, such as the Deadeye DMR or the Vengeful Sniper Rifle.

- Placing cover or running between cover, depending on the playlist, is very beneficial when dealing with an opponent wielding a Tactical Assault Rifle, as it lacks somewhat in structure damage.
- Scoped rifles such as the Deadeye Assault Rifle can be beneficial to run as a counter to an opponent with a Tactical Assault Rifle, as while it may have a lower DPS by a large margin, the damage per shot is the same, the recoil is easier, and the scope allows you to take the same ranges as the Tactical Assault Rifle but with much higher accuracy.
