The Heavy Assault Rifle is an Assault Weapon that was introduced in OG Chapter 1: Season 6.
Functionality

The Heavy Assault Rifle is a fully automatic, slow firing, medium ranged weapon. It excels at medium ranged combat, but has the ability to perform decently at long ranges.
Damage falloff:
- Damage falloff begins at 50 meters (10 tiles).
- Damage steadily decreases down to 80% of its maximum at 75 meters (15 tiles).
- Damage reaches its minimum value of 66% of its maximum at 100 meters (20 tiles).
Heavy Assault Rifle is a Hitscan weapon with First Shot Accuracy enabled.
The Heavy Assault Rifle can be reloaded whilst aiming.

- When you use a Heavy Assault Rifle, it is preferable to use at medium range. At long range it is still powerful due to its high damage and accuracy when firing slowly, however.
- It is important to note that the weapon has a very large spread when firing at full auto, and also is very weak up close due to hipfire spread. It is advised to wait for its first shot accuracy to reset before firing each shot, or to fire in short bursts.
- Despite its high damage, the fire rate of the Heavy Assault Rifle make it generally unsuited to destroying structures.
- The Heavy Assault Rifle, like most weapons with the "Heavy" prefix, is rather noisy.
- Keep that in mind when attacking opponents at longer ranges, as it's likely any enemies close by will hear you firing even clearer than if you were to fire a different kind of assault rifle.
- When choosing between the Heavy Assault Rifle and other medium-range options, note the Heavy Assault Rifle's strengths of moderately high damage and tight initial accuracy, and its weaknesses of poor hip-fire accuracy, poor structure DPS, and high bloom when firing full-auto.

- Keep within close range when engaging with an opponent with a Heavy Assault Rifle, as the weapon's poor hipfire accuracy can be its downfall.
- At mid-to-long range, where the Heavy Assault Rifle is effective, it is best to use a scoped or red-dot weapon. Since the Heavy Assault Rifle lacks a scope, its shots have spread, whereas scoped weapons do not.

- The Heavy Assault Rifle is based on the Zastava M70 an unlicensed derivative of the AK-47. This icon was previously used for all rarities of the weapon before Chapter 2: Season 1. It was commonly mistaken by the community that the Heavy Assault rifle was a AK-47 and an AKM.
- The Heavy Assault Rifle does not have an in-game description.
- The Epic and Legendary rarities of the Heavy Assault Rifle used to have the wrong stat rows assigned in the files:
- The Epic rarity had Uncommon stats assigned.
- The Legendary rarity had Common stats assigned.
- This was fixed with its release on OG Chapter 1: Season 6.
