Overview
Exotic Items are a special rarity in Fortnite that was introduced in Chapter 2: Season 5. They are often attributed for upgraded versions of existing weapons with unique attributes.

Exotic items are unique with no other existing rarities, designed to enhance an existing weapon with a unique attribute or modifier. They usually, but not always, have a unique icon and model. With the exception of the Storm Scout, all Exotic items feature a distinct trait setting them apart from their base weapon.

- Most exotic weapons share stats with their Legendary counterparts, if applicable.
- They have distinct names, often reflecting their special trait.
- They are obtained through unique methods, typically by purchasing from Characters or malfunctioning Vending Machines.

- Exotic weapons are very similar to Mythic weapons in terms of their function.
- When viewed in the inventory, Exotic items’ rarity can be indicated with varying number of stars, ranging from 5 (e.g. Shadow Tracker) to 7 (e.g. Slap Splash).
- Because of it being based off the unreleased transcendent rarity, it will have a red shine in creative item placers unlike most rarities that use their actual inventory color.
- Several Exotic weapons belong to set groups, each having their own unique color schemes.
- These include the Heisted exotics from Chapter 4: Season 1, the Lawless exotics from Chapter 6: Season 2, the Unstable exotics from Chapter 6: Season 3 and Eradicator exotics from Chapter 6: Season 4.
- There have been 6 Exotic healing items in Battle Royale, including 3 cannons and 2 splashes.
- 3 of them are related to Slap, with the Slap Splash being the only one that's not a Lawless exotic.
