The Rift Point Device is an Exotic Utility Item in Fortnite: Ballistic, that was added in Chapter 6: Season 1.
Functionality
Functionality[]
The Rift Point Device served as the main objective in Ballistic, where attackers had to plant and let it detonate and defenders must have worked to defuse it. It would always spawn at the start of a round in Attacker Spawn and couldn't be picked up by defenders.
When planted, the Rift Point Device will begin a 45 second timer. When the timer reaches zero, it will detonate, producing a large explosion that eliminates anybody caught in the blast radius. Standing behind structures, hiding within Bubble Shields or taking cover behind The Wall is ineffective.
Successfully planting a Rift Point Device awards 
200 Credits for the next round. Overdrive speeds up Rift Point Device interactions by 25%.
