Reality: Unknown, also known as just The Unknown, is a Reality in Fortnite that was first introduced during Chapter 6: Season 1.
It is a reality that diverged from Reality Zero as well as the Reality in which Fortnite OG takes place.
Overview
Overview[]
Reality: Unknown[2] is an alternative timeline that diverged from Reality Zero's Season 1 era after several characters from another reality were rifted here, such as: Jonesy The Secondst, Peely, Bushranger, Renegade Rebel, Aerial Assault Bomber, Skull Commander, Meowdas, Dynamo TNTina and 1-Ball.
Unlike Reality: UN-0-C4OG, which has diverged immediately from Reality Zero, this reality initially remained almost identical to Reality Zero, with the exception of characters from "future" seasons who were rifted here and some altered characters such as Black Knight who exist as Knight Conqueror. However, towards the end of OG Chapter 1: Season 4, the timeline started diverging greatly, with the Blast Off event being led by a Red Rift Butterfly, leading to Revin the Cube spawning instead of Kevin.
Reality: Unknown would start crossing over with other mainstream realities across Fortnite, most notably Reality: 266.
The Zero Point
The Zero Point[]

The Zero Point is the heart of all of reality itself and the creator of the Island. As this Reality is a diverged timeline of Reality Zero, it also has an instance of The Zero Point.
The Island
The Island[]
The Island was the home and creation of The Zero Point. The Island of this Reality is Athena, identical to its Reality Zero's Season 1 era counterpart.
Dimensional separation
Dimensional separation[]
Just like Reality Zero, this Reality is split into two perfectly identical sub-dimensions: The Loop and the Extra Loop. Although the environment is the same, and what happens on one side affects the other, people in The Loop cannot interact with those in The Extra Loop and vice versa, even if they are at the exact same location[3].
The Loop[]
The Loop is a special environment featuring a strange deadly Storm. It's unknown if in this Reality, any organization like the Imagined Order altered anything, turning it into something similar to Reality Zero's Loop or if it was left into a natural state, like Reality: 266's Loop.
The Extra Loop[]
This is the place where Loopers who escaped The Loop are located,[4][5] completely identical to The Loop. Here The Storm does seems not exist.
Divergence from Reality Zero
Divergence from Reality Zero[]
Several notable points of divergence with Reality Zero can be mentioned:
- Black Knight, the odious scourge of Wailing Woods, is replaced with Knight Conqueror, the snarling scourge of Fatal Fields.
- Raven became a Knight of The Storm much sooner than his Reality Zero counterpart.[6]
- Someone remembers what happened in Reality Zero with the meteor and broadcasted a message that never happened before on a TV.[7]
- The mysterious hatch at Wailing Woods is broadcasting a message in morse code that translates to "SOMETHING IS WRONG".
- Omega's counterpart works for The Government and protects Dusty Divot.[8] He fought against The Visitor (Reality Unknown).
- A Red Rift Butterfly appeared during The Rocket Launch Event, circling around The Looper before rifting to the Rocket and sabotaging it. This caused the final Rift to become red instead of blue, like it was in Reality Zero.
- In the aftermath of the rocket launch, several objects were rifted into other realities, such as:
- Tomato Town's Tomatohead mascot, which was rifted into Reality: 783 near Foxy Floodgate. It later disappeared from Oninoshima before returning some time after alongside Tomato Temple.
- The meteor-damaged Motel sign, which was rifted into the Venture island's reality, replacing the undamaged one that would be rifted into Athena, basically trading places.
- The Durrr Burger mascot, which was rifted into the Blitz reality's Asteria Awakened island, on the beach right next to Snobby Shoals, unlike its Reality Zero counterpart, which was instead rifted into the California Desert in the real world. It returned in OG Season 5, but later on, however, it suddenly disappeared for half a day before reappearing.
- In the aftermath of the rocket launch, several objects were rifted into other realities, such as:
- The Noms shop received a new sign after the old one disappeared through a red Rift in Season 4, but with the letters changed to say "MOON".
- A wooden statue of a wolf howling at the moon, which never existed in Reality Zero, has appeared on the island.
- Instead of Kevin the Cube appearing in Season 5, a crimson red cube appeared in its place, dubbed Revin the Cube. The runes it left behind were red instead of purple, same goes for the lake in Loot Lake after the cube had sank.
- For unknown reasons, however, it switched with a Corruption Cube while it went in the In-Between. This also caused the Corrupted Areas to be reverted to purple, the purple Shadow Stones were replaced by the dark red Havoc Stones, which grant the Nitro effect upon consumption.
- The moon mysteriously changed to a Blood Moon similar to that of Kado Thorne in Season 5.
- Funding stations owned by The Visitor (Reality Unknown), for the Hop Rock Dualies and The Dub, appeared around the island.
- The Block missed the landing by several meters, instead landing on the edge of the island to the north of Risky Reels, slipping into the ocean and leaving a large square-shaped crater behind.
- The bunker island is swarmed by red Rift Butterflies while its bunker broadcasted a message in morse code that translates to "FOUNDATION".
- During OG Chapter 1: Season 8, when The Government started to investigate the Island, the Dark Harvester emerged above Loot Lake through a golden rift, connecting the reality to Reality: 266, and began to scan Loot Lake, before leaving.
Story
Story[]
OG Chapter 1: Season 1[]

Several people residing in Oninoshima (Jonesy The Secondst, Peely, Bushranger, Renegade Rebel, Aerial Assault Bomber, Skull Commander, Meowdas, Dynamo TNTina and 1-Ball) were mysteriously rifted into this Reality.

This reality, however, is not only similar in appearance to Reality Zero. Battle Bus, chaotic combat across the Island, this is what awaits anyone arriving here, just like the beginnings of Reality Zero.
OG Chapter 1: Season 2[]

Following a path similar to Reality Zero's story, Shifty Shafts, Snobby Shores, Haunted Hills, Junk Junction and Tilted Towers appeared, alongside smaller locations.

During that time the Fort Knights rise again however, the odious scourge of Wailing Woods is missing. Instead, another more menacing knight, brandishing the same colors and banners, appeared. Wishing to expand his dark territory, this mysterious knight dubbed Knight Conqueror became the snarling scourge of Fatal Fields.

While the original counterpart of Cuddle Team Leader exists in this reality,[9] an alternate version of her is also there. Although her origin and identity are a mystery.

As the same goes to Sparkle Specialist, as Sparkle Diva is the alternate version of her.
OG Chapter 1: Season 3[]

A small town with an oriental twist has appeared in the south of the Island. Those who have visited Reality Zero in the past will recognize it: Lucky Landing. However, the appearance of this town also means something else: if this world is following events similar to Reality Zero, then the Event that started it all is approaching (literally). You should look at the sky.

Speaking of sky, the brooding master of dark skies finally makes his appearance... as a knight? Serving the Storm? Wait... this is way too soon... he was supposed to become a servant of the Storm only after...[10] Nevermind, all people need to know is that Sir Raven is far more dangerous than his counterpart at the same time, so they should be careful and watch his actions![11]

"Storms", this sounds really familiar... That's right, it also marks the appearance of the punk rock band The Storms. Although the Power Chord of this world is a little different, the power of her music remain the same, so people gotta let this punk hear their scream!

Remember when Agent Jones was sent on a mission disguised as a Dinosaur? Well it seems he's... not here. However, rumors concerning strange mechas that look like green dinosaurs have started to circulate around the island lately. Islanders should be careful, because unlike Jonesy, those "Mecha R3X" seem to be as hostile as the dinosaur they mimic and are real bone breakers.
Anyone got eyes on Tilted? The comet is approaching closer to the Island, like before... and someone seems to have noticed it. A morse code is diffused on a TV at Tilted Towers, translating into "IT IS HAPPENING AG...". The person who broadcast it is unknown, however no matter their identity, this person was there the first time and remember.
OG Chapter 1: Season 4[]

The meteor crashed, once again at Dusty Depot transforming it into Dusty Divot. Some fragments also crashed at Tilted Towers, Risky Reels and other locations, exactly like in Reality Zero. At the same time, a mysterious government settled in the center of the crater, building a laboratory to study the heart of the meteor. A superhero and supervillain movie also began filming.

After The Government managed to drill into the Meteor, they discovered a capsule which opened and released The Visitor. Now having a different armor, he recalls having visited Dusty Divot and Risky Reels in the past, even though this is his first time in this world.

During his violent escapade he confronted Alpha, an alternate counterpart of Omega working for The Government, in the crater but managed to escape safe. He then atatcked one of The Government's convoys to steal the Meteor fragments and the Hop Rocks before setting up camp in the Villain Lair.

After The Visitor finished upgrading the Rocket and planned its launch, Street Wave Teknique appeared and tagged the Rocket in front of the Visitor with her logo.

Just before the Rocket launched, a red Rift Butterfly appeared and circled around The Looper before rifting to the Rocket and seemingly sabotaging it. As in the Reality Zero timeline, the Rocket launches — this time piloted by The Visitor (Reality Unknown). It mirrors its past flight, breaking off its booster mid-air before plummeting back toward the Island, activating four red beams that merge into a single massive one aimed directly at Tilted Towers.

Moments before impact, the Rocket enters a Rift. It then follows its original trajectory, with a Rift opening above Moisty Mire, and passes through the following locations in order: Lonely Lodge, Wailing Woods, Risky Reels, Loot Lake, Tilted Towers, and Greasy Grove before rifting again. A larger Rift then forms above Loot Lake, ejecting the Rocket into the sky, where it tears open a massive Sideways Rift. However, it is not blue like before, but red, the exact same as the red Rift Butterfly.

Following this, the crack in the sky began to spread more and more, and spatio-temporal anomalies manifested on the Island, rifting objects from the island away, exactly like in Reality Zero. However, the Tomatohead mascot rifted in Reality: 783 near Foxy Floodgate, and the meteor damaged Motel sign rifted into Reload's Reality on the Venture Island, replacing it's own, in addition to The Durrr Burger mascot which has now appeared in the Blitz Reality.
OG Chapter 1: Season 5[]

As the corrupted Sideways Rift began collapsing, it released waves of dark mist before shifting into a deeper red hue. Instead of closing after the appearance of Tomato Temple as it had during Season 5, the rift already started he process, unleashed a series of red lightning bursts that repeatedly targeted a hill near Paradise Palms marked by a large stone surrounded by the ring of cacti.
The Movement Map
One by one, the cacti were struck down in a precise sequence: each burst of lightning grew more frequent, accelerating from hourly short strikes to mere minutes apart and longer ones. With each strike, a cactus was weakened until destroyed to then other strike to attack the next one. This continued until only the stone remained. Finally, a massive bolt shattered the rock, releasing a Cube into reality as the Sideways Rift sealed shut.
However, likely because of the Rift, that Cube was different. It wasn't dark purple, unlike its counterpart Kevin, but violet red and featured new runes and different powers. Instead of zapping its enemies, it unleashed a corrupted red rift on them, moreover the loopers around it didn't gain shield, but were directly healed with an improvement in their speed as a bonus for those who touched it.
A day after appearing, Revin began to move. It made its way towards Fatal Fields, where it placed a rune nearby. Unlike Kevin's runes, Revin's were surrounded by high-speed domes, which gave you the pepper effect on entry. It continued to do this for the next couple of weeks, making its way to locations such as Greasy Grove, Salty Springs, Retail Row, Wailing Woods, Lazy Links, and Pleasant Park.
After this Journey, Revin took a stroll into Tilted Towers, where after passing by the new building in town, it decided to go back and take a shortcut right through it. Afterwards, Revin made its way over the hill and to loot lake, where it ventured down the pier and into the water. The Cube then proceeded to melt within the water, turning it from the blue liquid into the red solid Revin is made of.
OG Chapter 1: Season 6[]
Following the events of Season 5, the Cube began to rise from the lake. However, something was different, instead of the violet-red Cube from this Reality, a deep purple Cube has risen, resembling its counterpart from Reality Zero more closely. This Cube, known as Kevin, erupted from the lake, tearing the central island skyward to form the Floating Island suspended by a swirling vortex. Loot Lake was renamed to Leaky Lake, marked by "No Swimming" signs and a massive whirlpool at its heard.
The seven rune sites left by Revin has been transformed into Corrupted Areas, barren wastelands dotted with dead trees and red rifts. But the Runes have been turned back to Kevin's. Unlike the Shadow Stones from Reality Zero, these zones now spawned Havoc Stones, which gave the Nitro effect for 45 seconds, bosting speed without the shadowy invincibility.
Kevin began his journey around the island, hovering over each Corrupted Area absorbing its energy, lifting the glyph skyward, which powered Kevin for each rune he consumed, leading to Cube Structures forming on the Floating Island. The absorbed runes later rose again, heading to the center of the island for the final consumption. All of the Runes energy had died out, turning brown and rotting on the ground. Kevin has began his journey back to Leaky Lake. At the lake, he is sending a beam above the sky, which is slowly opening a portal to another reality, knowing the island is going to be in danger.
The Floating Island has been destroyed into multiple pieces, with Kevin detatched from it, This has caused the Cube structure formed on the Floating Island to scatter across the Island, bringing in Cube Monsters. They were slowly haunting the island, but the Loopers destroyed the Cube Spawners that were bringing the Monsters to the island, which caused Kevin to crack slowly overtime. One day before the Butterfly Event, Kevin outer shell broke open, which led to him leaking purple liquid into the vortex every hour.
The final drop of the Cube fell into the vortex, which slowly spinned and emitting a white blinding light, sending small chunks and then exploding. The Loopers were pulled into The In-Between, a realm that is inside The Zero Point. However, Revin was inside the In-Between, seemingly spreading his corruption to different realities. Then a massive Rift Butterfly formed in front of the Loopers, which shrunk and spun around them, eventually touching their hands and rifting them back to the island. Leaky Lake is now a paradise of small grassy isles, waterfalls, and the remains of Kevin is now in a Stonehenge-like circles. Overtime, the Corruption around the island was beginning to receed, with nature regrowing.
Around this time the Bunker in Wailing Woods started blinking morse code, with the first one being "TITANS" and later on the second being "ZEROHOUR", which were both teasers for the Chapter 6 Finale Event Zero Hour. Meanwhile at Flush Factory, a mysterious parachute has appeared on top of the main building, identical to the one A.I.M. once left behind him when he landed on Athena in Reality Zero during Season 6.
After some days, a mysterious ice storm has appeared off the southwest coast of the island, slowly moving closer by the day. A few days later, it is revealed to be an Iceberg and it has changed direction to go towards the island. In the meantime, in Reality: 783 the war against the Dark Presence raged on, and Revin the Cube was summoned by Jones as a last resort. Ultimately, Revin self-destructed following the damage it sustained, taking Dark Presence with him.
On November 29th, Dark Voyager from the Last Reality has destroyed the Battle Bus, preventing Loopers from other realities to access this Reality until it was repaired.
OG Chapter 1: Season 7[]
After the Battle Bus was repaired, the Loopers returned to Reality: Unknown only to find that the bottom left corner of the island was not only hit by the Iceberg, but the iceberg had also taken out Greasy Grove and Flush Factory in the process similar to Reality Zero. However, in an unexpected twist, The Block missed Risky Reels by several meters to the north, causing a crater in its place and the Block itself to slowly sink into the water.

As winter was starting to come to a close a few months later, Polar Peak began to melt, and it woke up The Ice King (or rather an alternate version of him), but it also revealed a mysterious figure imprisoned inside ice in the castle's dungeon. The Ice King begins his plan to stop the ice from melting. As the Ice King's plan slowly but surely got closer to being executed, a Weather Warning was broadcast on all TVs across Athena, foreshadowing a snowstorm.
On February 15th, the sphere cracked open, releasing the Ice King's power. He summoned a large aurora projection of himself while conjuring a massive blizzard, blanketing the entire map in snow and summoning Ice Fiends everywhere.
In another reality, a red sideways rift opened, and The Visitor appeared through it and landed with his rocket.
Over the next week, the Ice at Polar Peak will continue to melt until February 22nd, where Pyreheart has broken free and escaped from his prison. This causes the snow on Island to slowly melt overtime until the snow returned to it's original spot.
On March 17th, Earthquakes started happening around the island, which started causing dozens of fissures to open up around the Island. At the same time, Wailing Woods slowly began drying up, showing a washed up brown color, in which ashes started to rise up from the ground.
OG Chapter 1: Season 8[]
Following the events of Season 7, a Volcano has risen from the ground, completely destroying Wailing Woods, the whole Farm District, and Lazy Links, making room for a Jungle to form with an Aztec City and a Pirate Village Port.
Around this time, a Black Helicopter has appeared near the Hot Springs area, looking for something, over time it would move around the map eventually landing at Loot Lake. However during the Black Helicopter journey around the map, the Dark Harvester has rifted to Reality: Unknown above Loot Lake in search of the last Zero Point Shard. He fails to find it and leaves through a Golden Rift.

Trivia[]
- Alongside Reality: UN-0-C4OG and Reality: UN-0-C2R, this is the third playable divergent reality of Reality Zero.
- It is also the one that diverges the least among the three, as despite the significant differences, most of the key events are similar.
- Starting with OG Chapter 1: Season 4, the reality of Fortnite OG started to become more connected to the mainstream realities of other modes.
- The aftermath of the Rocket Launch created connections to other realities, such as Reality: 783, Reality: UN-RL-01, and Reality: UN-BL-1T7.
- In the Zero Hour event, Jones summoned Revin the Cube to confront the Dark Presence.
- The Visitor landed his rocket in Reality: 266 after launching from this one.
- The Visitor (Reality Unknown) was initially named The Visitor (Reality 157), implying this was intended to be this Reality's Official Number.
- This previous name was still visible when selecting his Fall Guys Bean variant until Update v36.10.
- This can translate into Reality OG, as converting the numbers into letters (off of their position in the alphabet) results in O-G (15-7).
