- — Revin the Cube
Revin the Cube[3] (also known as Kevin) was a red-colored Cube that first appeared in OG Chapter 1: Season 5. It is a sentient being of unknown origin with malicious intentions. It is an alternate reality/timeline counterpart of Kevin the Cube who was affected by the unstable Sideways Rift opened by The Visitor during OG Chapter 1: Season 4. It was later summoned during the Zero Hour Live Event, serving as an ally of circumstance against the Dark Presence and ultimately destroying him at the cost of his life.
It is a major character in Fortnite OG and Fortnite: Battle Royale, serving as the main antagonist of OG Chapter 1: Season 5 and OG Chapter 1: Season 6 and a supporting character in Zero Hour.
Overview
Overview[]
Revin is a sentient entity that appeared first during OG Chapter 1: Season 5. Just like its counterpart of Reality Zero, Kevin the Cube, it appeared near Paradise Palms, being created from several lightning strikes from the Sideways Rift, closing it in the process. OG Chapter 1: Season 5[]
Crack Closure[]

As the corrupted Sideways Rift began collapsing, it released waves of dark mist before shifting into a deeper red hue. Instead of closing after the appearance of Tomato Temple as it had during Season 5 in Reality Zero, the rift already started the process and unleashed a series of red lightning bursts that repeatedly targeted a hill near Paradise Palms marked by a large stone surrounded by the ring of cacti.
The Movement Map
One by one, the cacti were struck down in a precise sequence: each burst of lightning grew more frequent, accelerating from hourly short strikes to mere minutes apart and longer ones. With each strike, a cactus was weakened until destroyed, then another strike was released to attack the next one. This continued until only the stone remained. Finally, a massive bolt shattered the rock, releasing a Cube into reality as the Sideways Rift sealed shut.
However, likely because of the Rift, that Cube was different. It wasn't dark purple like its counterpart Kevin, but violet red and featured new runes and different powers. Instead of zapping its enemies, it unleashed a corrupted red rift on them, moreover the loopers around it didn't gain shield, but were directly healed with an improvement in their speed as a bonus for those who touched it.
Runes and Sinking[]
A day after appearing, it began to move. It made its way towards Fatal Fields, where it placed a rune nearby. Unlike Kevin's runes, Revin's were surrounded by high-speed domes, which gave you the pepper effect on entry. It continued to do this for the next couple of weeks, making its way to locations such as Greasy Grove, Salty Springs, Retail Row, Wailing Woods, Lazy Links, and Pleasant Park.
After this Journey, Revin took a stroll into Tilted Towers, where after passing by the new building in town, it decided to go back and take a shortcut right through it. Afterwards, Revin made its way over the hill and to loot lake, where it ventured down the pier and into the water. The Cube then proceeded to melt within the water, turning it from the blue liquid into the red solid Revin is made of.
OG Chapter 1: Season 6[]
Kevin mysteriously took Revin the Cube's place when the latter was melted in Loot Lake. With this change, all of the runes Revin printed reverted into the Kevin's rune. Revin's influence wasn't completely gone however, as instead of Kevin's Shadow Stones, they were now red and known as a Havoc Stone, giving people the power of the Nitro instead of transforming them into Shadows. With each rune Kevin went to, the floating island became more corrupted, and pieces of cubes appear throughout, most being purple with additions of red. After Kevin absorbed all the energy from the runes, they collapsed to the ground and the floating island returned to Leaky Lake, where it unleashed its energy to The Storm.
The floating island then exploded into several pieces, and Cube Monsters were unleashed across the island. From that day onward, as Loopers were fighting back, Kevin began to crack more and more, until it eventually shed it outer shell completely and began to drip nectar into the Vortex.
The Butterfly Event[]
After the last drop of nectar leaked from Kevin, the Cube began to spin, gradually accelerating in speed. It eventually exploded into pieces, sent the Loopers to the In-Between, and sent the chunks of the Floating Island down to Leaky Lake, patching up the whirlpool in the process. While in the In-Between, Revin the Cube was seen altering the location in some form, having turned part of it red. After The Looper touched a Rift Butterfly, they were rifted back to the Island, now gazing upon what Leaky Lake had now become.
Chapter 6: Mini Season 2[]
Zero Hour[]
During the battle against the Dark Presence, Revin was rifted to Oninoshima thanks to Jones. As soon as the demon attacked the cube, it immediately retaliated by sending a red beam back at him, allowing the allies to attack the Dark Presence. However, Dark Presence used Kong as a shield and eventually threw him at at the red cube, causing it to suffer high damage to make it spin out and go haywire, about to explode. However, thanks to Mecha Team Leader, the cube got sent flying directly at the Dark Presence, its explosion consuming and destroying the demon for good alongside himself.
Trivia
Trivia[]
- Revin has the ability to open unstable red Rifts similarly to the Corruption Cubes ability to open corrupted purple Rifts, also known as Sideways Anomalies.
- Several elements could indicate that Revin's color is in fact natural and not because of an alteration.
- The Cube's Cradle textures already showed the presence of Red Cubes in addition to Corruption Cubes.
- Revin has runes that are unique to him.
- The unstable rift was "corrupted", but its red color changed to a deeper shade of red, corresponding to Revin's color.
- Following Kevin's example with turning the rift purple, it should have changed the rift's color to his own, if he was not already red.
- The exact HEX color codes of Revin are:
- BaseDiffuse: #59041B
- EdgeDiffuse: #38060A
- GlowColor-Runes: #FF3E64
- GlowColor1: #50030C
- GlowColor2: #7C0315
- GlowColor3: #950019
- GlowColor4: #BC1850
- OG Chapter 1: Season 6 version of Kevin the Cube mysteriously took the place of Revin the Cube under Loot Lake, under unknown circumstances.
- It was initially believed that OGS6 Kevin and Revin were once a single Cube altered by the Red Rift before splitting into two separate entities, Kevin as the original Cube, and Revin as a manifestation of the Red Energy forming a new Cube. However, Dark Voyager (Reality Redacted)'s Void Voyager style later revealed that red-colored Cubes occur naturally.
