Variants, officially known as Extra-Reality counterparts[1] or parallel-universe duplicates[2], refer, in the omniversal sense, to alternate-universe versions of an individual.

Note: The term "Variants" is adopted for simplicity, inspired by Marvel terminology. However, its meaning here is not identical, as it applies across the entire Omniverse rather than a single multiversal framework.

Overview

Overview[]

Variants, unlike Snapshots, which are perfect copies of individuals created by the Loop, are individuals originating from different realities. They can be:

To illustrate the first case, The Visitor was a member of The Seven and primarily operated within Reality Zero before being lost to the Chrome. In contrast, The Visitor (Reality Unknown) originates from another reality (more precisely a diverging timeline) where The Seven also exists. Trivia[]

  • During Chapter Seven: Season 1, it was revealed that The Seven themselves had variants from other realities. The first member to be introduced as such is The Visitor (Reality Unknown), a variant of The Visitor.
  • The alter-ego phenomenon between E.G.O and A.L.T.E.R members may be because of the variants phenomenon, because unlike the snapshots which keep the name of their original version, the alter-egos have completely different names and physical characteristics differ for some of them.
    • Turk is much younger than Riptide.
    • Tek has scars on the face and his shoulder that his alter-ego lacks.
    • Eye color of several E.G.O members are also different from their A.L.T.E.R counterparts.
  • Midas and Marigold are likely Variants, but it's not completely sure since the origin of Marigold is completely unknown.
