Item Shop Appearances
Item Shop Appearances[]
Mask Maker Daigo has appeared in 22 different Item Shops on 21 different days.
|
Why are there shops labelled as 'parts'? For varying reasons, Epic Games may decide to add or remove items from the Item Shop before the usual rotation occurs. The Fortnite Wiki treats each change to the Item Shop within a single day as a separate 'part' that makes up the day's Item Shop History. |
Why are there two different numbers for Mask Maker Daigo's appearances? Mask Maker Daigo has, on at least one occasion, appeared in more than one shop in a single day. This has resulted in its count for appearances in the Item Shop being higher than the amount of days it has appeared in it. Both counts are listed by the Fortnite Wiki in order to be as accurate as possible, unlike other sources. |

Behavior
Behavior[]
Daigo will be meditating in the citadel of Demon's Domain, attacking players on sight. The moment he gets into combat he will hover in the air while four masks orbit around him. While active, Daigo will not take critical or headshot damage.
If Daigo loses sight of his current target, he will return back to the center of the arena and resume meditating, often Crimson Void Warping back if he is far from the center.
Weakspots[]
- The four masks that orbit Daigo can be damaged when attacked, but the damage will not transfer to Daigo himself. Destroying all four masks will weaken Daigo and stun him for 15 seconds, converting all damage done to him regardless of location to headshot damage. Any damage done to Daigo will decrease the time he is stunned.
- Each mask has
150/200/275/350 Health and the amount of active masks are counted underneath Daigo's health bar, indicated by four icons.
Special Abilities
Special Abilities[]

- Each Spire Spike has
200 Health and is counted as a prop. Damaging one will cause it to charge and release a shockwave that knocks nearby players away. This doesn't destroy the shard. - Destroying a Spire Spike will drop Ammunition and Healing Items. If a Spire Spike is destroyed by Daigo, it will drop nothing.

- — Daigo
Daigo (大吾) the Mask Maker is the former owner of The Thousand Faces as well as one of the Spirit Siblings.[2] He was turned into a puppet of the Dark Presence and forced to become a new commander of the Demon Warriors: the King of the Spires.
He is the elder brother of Kendo and Jade, and a descendant of the family which served as the main cause of the Shattering War in Oninoshima.
He is the deuteragonist of Chapter 6: Season 1, one of the two main antagonists of Chapter 6: Season 2 alongside Fletcher Kane and the main antagonist of Chapter 6: Season 3 and LEGO Fortnite:Expeditions, supporting character of Chapter 6: Season 4 and Chapter 6: Mini Season 2.
Personality
Personality[]
Daigo is described as overambitious, stubborn, selfish, and somewhat dangerous, but nevertheless a genius by his siblings. However, is not completely one-note: he loves his siblings deeply despite their conflicting beliefs — notably his little sister, Jade. Though he worries for her, he doesn't discourage her curiosity, believing her to nearly be as brilliant as him.
Throughout The Confrontation Event and its lead-up, Daigo sees it as his duty to protect his siblings[3]—first freeing Jade from the Spirit Realm, and later deciding to save the island as a whole[4] upon learning more about a "dark presence" within the realm, showcasing a strong sense of responsibility as the elder brother, even if somewhat tainted by his arrogance.
After his corruption and transformation into a demon, the dark presence induced in Daigo an alternate personality that speaks and moves like him, but is purely evil, hungry for power and destruction and no longer having any regard for the Island, its inhabitants and his loved ones.
Appearance
Appearance[]
Daigo is an adult man with a medium build, black hair and golden eyes. He sports a Japanese-inspired aesthetic, wearing a black jacket with logos of The Thousand Faces on it. While in his giant Kintsugi form, Daigo's body is covered in a sparkling, fractured gold aura that glows.
As a demon, Daigo's armor turned into dark masks of thousand faces glued together with kintsugi gold. His eyes turned bright blue, his Kintsugi mask turned gold and it also grew two long black and gold oni horns. His armor emanates dark mist. His hair became a little more spiky.
As a member of The Elites, Daigo ditches all his old magical related equipment, replacing it with technological armor and military/tactical equipment. His black armor features modern yellow lines reminiscent of his armor as Mask Maker Daigo, and he replaced his mask with a high-tech full-face helmet. Clouds, echoing the patterns on his original clothing, can be found on his hood.

History
History[]
Before Chapter 6[]
As the eldest brother of the family, Daigo inherits the Mask Making Shop, The Thousand Faces, from his grandfather. However, Daigo is frustrated that he only makes simple masks without powers, as his family once made masks with great abilities.
Chapter 6: Season 1[]
Though Daigo inherited his family's business as the eldest among his siblings, he was often disappointed by the limitation of creating purely ceremonial masks - lacking any potential or capability. Upon the resurgence of magic and demons on Oninoshima following the arrival of the Zero Point Shard, Daigo promptly abandoned his work on non-magical masks - shifting his attention to the magical phenomena appearing across the island— particularly those tied to the Demon Warriors.
Despite some success in creating elemental masks containing a moderate amount of magic, Daigo is determined to replicate the true Masks of Power crafted by his ancestors - devoting himself entirely to his goal regardless of his family's historic ties to the Shattering War, or the warnings of his brother and the advice of his sister. As a result, most residents of Oninoshima seem to express an inherent distrust in him.
During the Chapter 6: Season 1 Story Quests, Jade becomes trapped in the Spirit Realm due to her own relentless curiosity. Kendo immediately suspects Daigo to be at fault, believing his siblings' similar tendencies make them a bad influence on each other.
Sent by Kendo, The Looper's following investigations in The Thousand Faces uncover Daigo's experiments, particularly on Sprites, and his continued work towards the Masks of Power. They also find a large, ancient Mask of Power that Kendo warns must never be repaired.[5]
Upon confrontation, Daigo reveals that Jade was actually cursed by the demons, firmly stating he'd never hurt her, as she is the only person he wholly trusts. He had crafted a mask to protect her, though it only backfired—amplifying her curse enough to allow her entrance into the Spirit Realm, but not enough to escape it. Though he regrets it, he still hopes the mask will keep her safe.
After being freed by The Looper and the impromplty-formed Demon Hunters, The Night Rose entrusts Daigo with the Splinter Blades—the same weapons used in her own liberation—believing they can also be used to save Jade. Now seeing himself as having failed his sister, Daigo sets his plan in motion to free her, arming himself with the Splinter Blades, and stationing in front of a frozen, lone Dragon Portal in the mountains, starting the build-up to The Confrontation Event.
Ahead of Daigo are six small masks, each gradually beginning to siphon the Spirit Realm's power and pull it into him[6] as he meditates in front of the portal, focusing his energy to reach out to Jade on the other side. He works alone (aside from The Looper briefly assisting in fueling his conflict-powered "chaos magic" through combat)[7] as his methods clash with those of Kendo and the rest of the Demon Hunters, despite their shared goal of saving Jade.
In his time near the portal, as each masks slowly connects to it in succession, he begins to hear whispers from a powerful "dark presence"[8] within the Spirit Realm— which knows of him and his family alongside their history, and wants to take everyone as it did his sister— especially him.[9] He also learns that the presence has the Zero Point Shard in its possession, and controls Shogun X,[10] who had previously bound The Night Rose.
As Daigo uncovers more about the presence, he realizes that freeing Jade is just the beginning— now believing that he is obligated to save Oninoshima as a whole,[11] and that he is the only one strong enough to do so.[12]
When approached by most members of the Demon Hunters, Daigo first firmly tells them not to interfere. However, as he nears opening the portal with each connected mask, his demeanor shifts. He begins to empathize with Hope,[13] relating to the responsibility she bears, and the pressure that comes with it.[14] While he initially gives the same earlier warning to Kendo, Daigo eventually shares what he’s learned about the presence,[15] and assures his brother that he has a plan and knows his purpose.[16] He confides in The Night Rose about the presence as well, continuing to see her as an ally and later even tasking her with looking after his siblings should anything happen to him.[17] Daigo’s newfound understanding of the Spirit Realm also leads him to recognize the importance of the Zero Point Shard, sparking a growing distrust towards Jones and his intentions with it.[18]
As the last mask nears its connection with the Dragon Portal, Daigo senses that he'll soon be able to free his sister, though he's already decided that won't be enough.[19]
The Confrontation Event[]
The final mask links with the Dragon Portal—all six masks are now sufficiently charged with energy. Concentrating his power, Daigo utilizes Kintsugi and fuses them into one, equipping it with a burst of golden radiance. As he steps forward, he reaches towards the portal, his hands glowing with the same golden aura as he begins to pull. On his second tug, Jade starts to emerge, though she's still bound by chain-like energy protruding from the Spirit Realm. They reach for each other as she inches closer, only for her to be violently yanked back in— the force of it even slightly pulling Daigo ahead before their connection is severed.
Shogun X steps through and immediately attacks Daigo on sight. Seizing him by the head, he slams him into the ground— though the overpowered mask triggers a surge of golden energy, transforming them both into towering giants. Shogun X radiates a magenta aura reminiscent of the Spirit Realm, while Daigo glows the same cracked gold from his mask.
Shogun X swiftly takes advantage of his newfound size, using the Dragon Portal to siphon energy from Oninoshima’s residents on a massive scale. Daigo lunges to stop him, igniting a magic-powered sword fight with the Splinter Blades. Though he holds his own for a while, Shogun X gradually overpowers him. Kicked aside after Shogun X manages to knock him off balance, Daigo struggles to rise as Shogun X resumes draining the islanders. Nevertheless, Daigo successfully hurls an explosive homing mask projectile, landing a direct hit and recommencing the battle.
As their fight intensifies, Daigo tries to utilize more of the explosive masks, but Shogun X manages to counter him and lands a devastating strike, forcing him to his knees. Once again grabbing Daigo’s face to immobilize him, Shogun X continues to siphon energy, however Daigo fuses the Splinter Blades into one while Shogun X is distracted, and delivers a fatal slash.
Cut open and defeated, Shogun X's stolen energy begins to rapidly leave his body and swirl into the portal as it starts to glow with golden light, all before erupting in a massive explosion. As the shockwave rips through the island, Shogun X falls, while Daigo is blown away by the blast.
The portal is left surrounded by streams of gold radiance. In Daigo's former place now stands Jade, freed from the Spirit Realm.
Chapter 6: Season 2[]
Following The Confrontation Event, Daigo has grown increasingly obsessed with the Dark Presence he uncovered during his preparations to save Jade, unwavering in his belief that it is now his duty to confront the Dark Presence and save all of Oninoshima. He refuses to return home despite Jade's pleas,[20] and dismisses Kendo's advise to settle after bringing Jade back safely.[21] Left with no other option, Jade now believes that Daigo must be stopped before his lack of limits causes him to be consumed by the Dark Presence,[22] especially as he remains its primary target.
Blinded by his obsession, Daigo strikes a deal with Fletcher Kane. In exchange for Kane's gold, Daigo promises ultimate power through his new plan.[23] Under Kane's employment, Daigo creates a personal mask for him and several others for his Alpha Guards.[24] Later, Kane has research done on the Zero Point Shard for Daigo.[25]
Once Daigo secures enough of Kane's gold, he uses kintsugi to repair the ancient, sinister Mask of Power he'd been keeping in the lower floor of The Thousand Faces.[26] Daigo's actions are eventually uncovered when The Looper, investigating for Midas, is led to Masked Meadows while looking into Fletcher Kane. With Daigo's activity revealed, Midas concludes that Daigo, now equipped with the mask, is strong enough to enter the Spirit Realm and even collect the Zero Point Shard for his own use—and that The Outlaws and the Demon Hunters must unite to stop him at all costs.[27]
Daigo's Fate Event[]
Escorted by Kane, Daigo once again heads to a Dragon Portal—this time in Magic Mosses—and begins attempting to open it, using the sinister mask's enhanced power. By now, Daigo is considered fallen in the eyes of The Night Rose,[28] Kendo,[29] and even Jade,[30] though he still believes he's acting for the greater good.[31]
Busy with the ritual to open the portal, Daigo orders Fletcher Kane, instructing him to deal with The Looper[32] following their approach, and put an end to their interference. Upon Kane's failure to stop them, Daigo expresses his annoyance,[33] retreating through a void tear.
On his final attempt, while Fletcher Kane was defeated by The Looper once and for all, Daigo managed to finally open the portal—betraying and abandoning Kane to his fate, calling it pragmatism as he claimed only he alone could enter the Spirit Realm. After, Daigo crossed into the Realm, only to be corrupted by the Darkness and turned into a new demon by a Demon Mask of the same kind as the Puppeteer. When Tasty Bois, Big Dill and the Brat, found a Kintsugi mask as they attempted to loot the Thousand Faces at a rainy night, the demonic Daigo eventually scare them off.
Chapter 6: Season 3 / LEGO Fortnite:Expeditions[]
After the Death Star exploded, its fragments crashed onto the island, one of which massively damaged the Predator Peak Portal, which was opening from the other side. This created an outburst of Zero Point energy and exported part of the Spirit Realm to the Island, giving birth to Demon's Domain. Mask Maker Daigo and his new lieutenant Kor emerged to lead the Demon army and continued Shogun X's mission. Daigo, controlled by the Dark Presence, tasked Spires to siphon the energy of the Island.
Encountering resistance of Heroes from the Supernova Academy, he seeks to destroy the Academy and Utopia City once and for all. Daigo's army of Spires also invaded several realities, several dormant ones can be found in the Reality: UN-85. Furthermore, the Storm King's armies came to swell the ranks of his army in Reality: 783.
Fall of the Supernova Academy & Graduation[]
Mask Maker Daigo and his army launched a surprise attack on the Academy, wrecking it without the Supernovas being able to save it, leaving behind glitched screens, blinking alarms, valuables thrown down, and the nature surrounding the Academy has withered away, leaving the entire Heroic team distraught. Hope became furious, and decided to abandon the rescue of Daigo.
Meanwhile, Daigo grew in power, changing his appearance and becoming more golden, while the portal cracks spread across the Demon's Domain. New gigantic spires also appeared at four points a few hundred meters around the domain, accentuating the corruption on the island, while in Reality: UN-85, the dormant spires were awakened and started to invade this world too. Later 5 additional gigantic spires also appeared.
The Super Showdown Event[]
Mask Maker Daigo performed his ritual, aiming to achieve what he viewed as his ultimate destiny: he absorbed the energy gathered by the four Spires of Demon's Domain, before destroying his own citadel to open the portal and summon his master. The mask maker then bowed to his master, ready to serve him before being violently discarded by the latter. After the Supernovas and Superman managed to deal with the invasion, Daigo was freed from the Dark Presence's influence, left traumatized and ashamed by his mistake, but Jade and Kendo celebrate the return of their brother.
Chapter 6: Season 4[]
After The Looper visits Daigo to talk to him about the Splinter Blades, Daigo acknowledges that he used to think he would use them to save Oninoshima, and now knows that this is not his fate. He gives the blades to The Looper as he knows that they came for the blades, and tells them to do what he failed to do, which is to strike down the demonic incursion once and for all.
Zero Hour[]
Daigo appeared alongside Jade during the rifting entrance scene. He later appeared next to Invincible and Midas shooting the Dark Presence with an Assault Rifle.
Chapter 7: Season 1[]
While initially left to protect Oninoshima alongside his siblings, Daigo ended up leaving to find somewhere where he truly belongs, leaving Reality: 783 and joining The Elites. He seems to have abandoned everything related to magic in the process, using combat weapons and much more conventional equipment, based on military knives and daggers. His armor is also equipped with claws.
