Overview[]

Magic is divided into two subcategories: spellless magic and runic magic. Each subcategory is divided into several elements.

Spellless magic[]

This is the type of magic used on Oninoshima, either through magical artifacts such as Masks of Power or acquired skills.^[5] This type of magic requires no incantation or magic circle and can be used almost instantly.

Runic magic[]

This is the type of magic used by the Imagined Order,^[3] wizards/witches^[6] and other entities such as Cubes, demons^[7] and spirits.^[8] This type of magic uses runes to cast magic power.

Elements[]

Element	Description
Fire	Allows the user to manipulate fire. One of the types of magic primarily used by Demons and Oni Masks.
Wind	Allows the user to manipulate wind. One of the types of magic primarily used by Sprites and Typhoon Blades.
Water	Allows the user to manipulate healing water. One of the types of magic primarily used by Sprites.
Earth	Allows the user to manipulate earth. One of the types of magic primarily used by Sprites and Typhoon Blade's stand.
Void	Allows the user to manipulate void. One of the types of magic primarily used by Demons and Oni Masks.
Zero	It allows the user to manipulate The Zero Point's energy to open rifts, boost all magic output. One of the types of magic primarily used by the Fox Clan, Spire Cult and Glyph Master Raz and by artifacts such as Splinter Blades and Fox Clan's magical masks.
Dark	Dark element; malevolent magic that can be obtained by converting normal magic into dark. One of the types of magic primarily used by Demons, Daigo and the Ancient Oni Mask in its spellless form, and by Corruption Cubes, Raz and Isabelle in its runic version. This magic allows the user to manipulates the element of darkness.
Chaos	A named magic utilized by Daigo and the Kintsugi Mask. Powered by conflict,[9] this magic was used during The Confrontation Event.
Subcategories
Shadow	A subcategory of dark magic primarily used by Shadow Midas, Daigo and Haruka of the Masks. This magic allows its users to manipulate shadows and command shadow's spirits.[10][11]
Demonic	A subcategory of dark magic[12] primarily used by Shogun X and The Puppeteer. This magic has been used to curse The Night Rose into servitude and later to curse Jade as well. It seems to have also been used against the The Great Turtle although the purpose of this remains unknown.[12] This magic also allows teleportation,[13] and strengthens other magics.[14]
Spire's Flame	A subcategory of dark magic[15] primarily used by the Spire Cult and Fusion. This magic seems to be derived from the energy of the Zero Point itself.[16][17]
Uncategorized
Arcane Magic	A type of magic primarily used by Doctor Doom and Pandora's Box's Arcane Artifacts in a runic form.
Reboot Magic	An unnamed type of magic primarily used by the Rebooted Cube in a runic form. This magic allows its user to manipulate life and create shields.

Unconfirmed Magic[]

This section lists powers similar to magic but not currently confirmed as such.

Element	Description
Kado Thorne's Vampiric Powers	A vampiric power that allows the user to siphon life force.
Fletcher Kane's Aura	An unnamed power primarily used by the Fletcher Kane. This power seems to emit a dark red aura, enhancing the physical abilities of its user and making them more bestial.
Jade's Power	A spiritual power exclusive to Jade, connecting her directly to the Island and allowing her to feel what Sprites feel as well as to talk to them.

Living Representations[]

Magic can take the form of living creatures such as Sprites.^[18]

Water Sprites	Water Spirits roaming around Oninoshima.
Air Sprites	Air Spirits roaming around Oninoshima.
Earth Sprites	Earth Spirits roaming around Oninoshima.

Trivia[]

• Magic was first witnessed during Season 5, but it was only properly mentioned during Chapter 2: Season 6.
