Behavior
Behavior[]
You will join the Dark Side![]
Darth Vader would always spawn at Vader Samurai's Solitude, as indicated by his icon on the minimap.
Darth Vader will primarily walk slowly towards his target when in combat. Blocking incoming fire until he gets close to swing at them with, or throw his Lightsaber, or to utilize one of his abilities. Like other Lightsabers, shooting at him enough will break his guard and stun him for a brief moment.
Shortly after getting knocked down, he will self-revive and activate a Rift Gate, to which he will offer to teach the player The Force. In this state, he is impervious to all damage. Darth Vader will not take an apprentice for training if they had already acquired a prior Force Power from another character.
If they accept he will wait outside the Rift Gate until the player finishes and join their team and party chat, granting the player a Sith Apprentice Lightsaber, Force Jump, and Force Saber Throw. Allowing them to throw their Lightsaber at the direction they're aiming.
As a hired Character, he will commentate on the player's choice of Outfit as well as their actions in-game. In addition, players can use voice chat through a special function for Communicative AI to communicate with Vader, allowing for unique one-on-one conversations. A unique interaction can occur with Darth Vader lifting a player up with the Force should they disrespect him enough in a conversation, forcing them into Sprint and applying the Shockwave effect.
Besides this, he will grant the team he is following neutrality from the Imperial Stormtroopers and AWR Troopers around the island. However, annoying his AI voice enough with too many disrespectful words or forbidden conversation topics will lead to him leaving the player's team and voice chat, making him hostile once more.
Special Abilities
Special Abilities[]
- Force Pull
- When far enough, Darth Vader may grab the target and pull them towards him. Applying the Shockwave effect to negate possible fall damage and forcing the target into Sprint to prevent them from shooting back.
- Force Leap
- If the target is far from Darth Vader, he may leap towards them to shorten the distance. If Vader lands at close proximity to the target's location, he would deal 15 damage on impact.
- Force Throw
- Darth Vader could throw any small props or Vehicles at his target, dealing up to 85 damage.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- Darth Vader's Boss Outfit ID is CID_NPC_Athena_Commando_M_Realm and his codename is HeavyLamp.
- The AI voice's codename is Redwood.
- In Update v35.10, the TBD Outfit was given an official Icon, likely for when Darth Vader joins the player's voice chat.
- Darth Vader's Boss music is an arrangement of The Imperial March, reusing the music from his samurai themed counterpart.
- His Defeated stinger also contains a snippet of The Battle of Endor III. Specifically the part that plays when he is unmasked by Luke Skywalker before he passes away upon his return to the Light.
- Darth Vader uses the Lambda-Class Shuttle Glider when forced into Glider Redeploy. This makes him the first Boss to use a unique Glider that is not the Default Glider in normal playlists.
- The Mandalorian uses the Razor Crest in Mando's Bounty, thus making him the first technically, but it was only present in the Limited Time Mode.
- Darth Vader is the first Boss to have a unique defeat animation, as he will slowly kneel on the ground. However unlike in previous seasons, he notably doesn't have a Vindertech Drone teleport him away.
- The reason behind this is due to Darth Vader being needed to teach the Force Power with the Rift Gate functionality.
- The Vindertech Drone will still appear when Darth Vader is defeated as a follower Character.
- The animation is similar to how Darth Vader kneels when defeated in the DICE Star Wars Battlefront Games.
- Darth Vader is also the first Boss with two different defeat animations depending on how he was eliminated, with a different one appearing when the player he is following is eliminated.
- Its animation similar to how Darth Vader shouts near the end of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.
- The reason behind this is due to Darth Vader being needed to teach the Force Power with the Rift Gate functionality.
- Out of all the other Bosses, Darth Vader has the least amount of voice lines. Beating out Iron Man with only one line.
- The Rift Gate opened by Darth Vader leads to Fortress Vader on Mustafar.
- Darth Vader's AI voice is powered by Google Gemini and ElevenLabs, using an emulation of the late James Earl Jones' voice.
- Jones, who passed away in 2024, signed the rights to his voice away to Disney to allow him to continue voicing Vader in official projects. The addition of AI to Vader's character in Fortnite was accomplished with close consultation with Jones' family.
- This voice AI is coded to not engage with any forbidden conversation topics. Including harmful language, harm to self, suggestive topics, and more.
- However due to a flaw in the AI voice technology used, many players have already gotten the Darth Vader AI voice to say things its not intended to say.
- Darth Vader's voice AI is programmed to refer to a player wearing the Darth Vader Outfit as "impostor" rather than by name, likely to avoid confusion with human teammates.
- Darth Vader is treated as an additional player character instead of a standard NPC. A party notification will trigger once he is hired or dismissed, and his health is displayed in the top-left corner reserved for squadmates.
- As such, he is the first hireable Character that can leave the player's team on his own, without being manually dismissed by the player he is assigned to.
- He is also the first Character that cannot be commanded with the Follower Comms, as pulling up the comm wheel will display no commands besides Dismiss.
- Similar to the Bosses during Chapter 2 Remix, if the player dismisses Darth Vader, he will be eliminated instantly, as opposed to returning to his starting location like other Hireable Characters.

Strategy
Strategy[]
|
This section outlines a strategy. |
| Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
- Darth Vader isn't very fast, so evading his Lightsaber swings isn't too hard. However you need to be mindful of the force abilities he could use to compensate.
- When Darth Vader is doing something that isn't walking towards you, he won't block incoming fire. This is an opportunity for you to dish out damage. Just be careful of what he does during it.
- Imperial Docking Bay Radar is located next to Seven Outpost VII, making it very easy to lure Darth Vader to fight The Foundation.
- While in combat with an enemy player with Darth Vader at your side, make sure to take full advantage of all the force abilities he will use. Coordinate with Vader to overwhelm your opponent with both blaster fire and his AI's unpredictable movements.

Anakin Skywalker, later known as his Sith alias Darth Vader is a Force-sensitive Sith Lord from Reality: UN-16. Once a Jedi Knight, Skywalker was lead to the Dark Side of the Force by his master Darth Sidious.
He is a major antagonist of Fortnite: Battle Royale, serving as the main antagonist of Chapter 3: Season 3, a supporting antagonist of Chapter 3: Season 4, Chapter 4: Season 2, and Chapter 5: Season 2, and one of the secondary antagonists of Galactic Battle.
Personality
Personality[]
Darth Vader is a ruthless enforcer and a fiercely loyal apprentice to his master. He radiates cold, calculated efficiency and unmistakable power. With a commanding presence and merciless demeanor, he carries out the will of the Galactic Empire without hesitation. Methodical and disciplined, Vader is driven by an obsessive need to control his environment and eliminate any threats to the Empire’s dominance.
Yet beneath this fearsome exterior lies a tragic internal conflict. As Anakin, his deep attachments to those he loved often led to emotional turmoil—wounds he never fully healed, even after becoming Darth Vader. His fall to the Dark Side was fueled by fear, anger, and a desperate desire to protect Padmé, making his transformation not just an act of betrayal, but one of deep personal tragedy. Despite his imposing Sith identity, remnants of Anakin’s humanity continue to haunt him, revealing a man divided between the oppressive lure of the Dark Side and the fading echoes of who he once was.
Vader’s complexity is further revealed through his relationship with his son, Luke Skywalker. He is both tyrant and father, torn between his loyalty to the Emperor and the hope of redemption offered through his bond with Luke—a connection that challenges the very foundation of his identity.
Appearance
Appearance[]
Clad in jet-black armor from head to toe, Darth Vader is a towering figure of fear and authority. His iconic helmet is skull-like and emotionless, with dark, triangular eye lenses that conceal any trace of humanity. A chest panel filled with blinking lights and switches hums quietly with life-support mechanisms, while his mechanical breathing—slow, rasping, and inescapable—precedes him like a death knell. A long, flowing cape trails behind him, adding to his monolithic silhouette. Beneath the armor, his body is more machine than man, ravaged by fire and rebuilt by Sith technology.
As Anakin, he stood tall with an athletic build, his Jedi robes hanging loosely over his frame. His wavy, shoulder-length hair often fell untamed around his intense blue eyes—eyes that flickered with passion, pride, and the weight of a galaxy’s expectations. A thin scar marked his right eye, a subtle testament to battles fought. There was a restlessness in him, barely masked beneath his charming grin and confident stride.
