Why are there two different numbers for Cryptic's appearances? Cryptic has, on at least one occasion, appeared in more than one shop in a single day. This has resulted in its count for appearances in the Item Shop being higher than the amount of days it has appeared in it. Both counts are listed by the Fortnite Wiki in order to be as accurate as possible, unlike other sources. |

He is a minor character in Fortnite: Battle Royale, serving as a minor antagonist during Chapter 3: Season 3 and a minor protagonist during Most Wanted.

Cryptic is a rather mysterious individual really interested in artifacts and relics, especially those related to dark magic. He is willing to scam people to get more relics without giving up those he already owns, showing a cunning side. However, he is not very intelligent, and was easily fooled by a fake relic with a tracker. After losing his expensive collection, he became very upset.
History

Chapter 3: Season 3[]
After the fight between Darth Vader and The Looper for the Sith Holocron, the relic was lost in the ocean and ended in Beach Bash, where it was recovered by Cryptic. The Scientist sent The Looper to recover it, but they arrived too late. Discovering Cryptic was the one now owning it, AMIE and The Looper tried to find relics for a trade. However, Cryptic scammed them, AMIE therefore asked The Looper to create a fake relic and put a tracker inside. This allowed The Looper to locate the Sith Holocron and upon recovering it, a magnitude six Zero Point energy shockwave happened.
Chapter 3: Season 4[]
For unspecified reasons, Cryptic lost his entire collection. He tells to himself and Mystify that "it's no use" as the "relics are gone".
