Ares is a Crew Series Outfit in Fortnite that could have been obtained by becoming a member of the Fortnite Crew during April 2024, as part of the April 2024 Fortnite Crew Pack. Ares was released during Chapter 5: Season 2 and is part of the Warrior God Set.

- Before Update v29.10, Ares' name and description were TBD. He was initially Epic and also lacked official Outfit renders.
- Ares' War God's Legacy Style was originally named Sulfur.
- In Update v33.30, Ares' rarity was changed from Rare to the newly added Crew Series.
- Ares was originally intended to be in the Chapter 5: Season 2 Battle Pass.[1]
- This is further reinforced as Ares' constellation was also present in Pandora's Box along with the other Battle Pass Outfits teased.

Ares is not initially patrolling Brawler's Battleground. Instead, he can be challenged by breaking his effigy thus triggering the fight.

The encounter is split into three phases:
Phase 1: 
ELIMINATE THE MINIONS![]
Three Minions are summoned within the battle arena, all of them have to be defeated to progress to the next phase.
Phase 2: ELIMINATE THE MINIONS![]
Three more Minions are summoned with an additional one appearing when one is eliminated as only three Minions can be present at any time. All four of them have to be defeated to progress to the next phase.
Phase 3: 
DEFEAT ARES[]
A Rift cracks in the sky as Ares crashes down in flames at the ruined altar and attacks the player. Ares alternates between all of his weapons as the fight progresses, adjusting his fighting style based on which weapon is currently being held.
During this phase, Ares has the following abilities:
- Explosive Landing
- Ares crashes down onto the battlefield, dealing 10 damage in a small radius. This ability is only used when Ares enters the arena.

- Summoning Minions
- After landing into battle, Ares passively summons up to two Minions to aid him until he is defeated.

- The Icon of Ares' Elimination Accolade uses an older design of his helmet not present on his current model.
- This same design is also present on an older version of Ares' Boss Icon.
- Ares wears the Warrior's Cape as his Back Bling.
- Ares' Spawn voice lines are impossible to hear in-game as he always spawns in the sky.
- Ares' Suspicious and Suspicious To Idle voice lines lack the voice modulation present in the rest of his lines.
- Ares is the only Olympian Boss with two unique Message Feed messages.
- He is also the only Olympian Boss to not be from the Chapter 5: Season 2 Battle Pass.
- Based on Phase 1 and Phase 3 musics who are almost identical, Ares was likely supposed to have 2 Phases instead of only one, just like Zeus.

Ares is the God of War and the son of Zeus and Hera. He is one of the Gods of The Pantheon, and one of Zeus' closest allies.
He is a supporting antagonist of Fortnite: Battle Royale, serving as a supporting antagonist in Chapter 5: Season 2.

Ares is constantly enraged and yelling, also known as the most brutal of the Gods. He is arrogant in his abilities and strength, believing himself undefeatable[6] until The Looper humiliated him in combat and stole his Medallion.

Chapter 5: Season 1[]
A carving of Ares can be found on Pandora's Box.
Chapter 5: Season 2[]
After Pandora's Box was opened, Ares came along with the other Olympian Gods to punish The Society for opening it and releasing the souls of The Underworld. While Ares did not engage with the Society, he opened the door for all mortal warriors to challenge him at Brawler's Battleground. After The Looper manages to defeat Cerberus, it attracts Ares' attention[8] and he challenges The Looper to a duel[9] which he ends up losing, as well as loosing his medallion to them. He reports back to his father, Zeus, about the Looper's strength and victory.[10] Thanks to Ares, Zeus now knows of the Looper's plans and would later ask Cerberus to look into them.
Chapter 5: Season 3[]
Ares, humbled after failing to retain the order of Zeus' Pantheon, fled the Island to the infinite corners of reality with most of the other gods to find a new domain to reign over after Zeus's fall.
