Husks are Monsters in Fortnite: Save the World. Husks are the the "standard", most common type of monsters that the player encounters. They are first introduced in the tutorial, making them the first type of monster the player encounters.

Husks utilize a melee attack using their hands, but deal relatively low damage per hit and have relatively low health. They are individually quite weak and only pose a threat in larger groups. Husks will find the weakest structures and shortest path to the objective, and will take out the objective quickly in swarms.

  • Husk.
  • Pumpkin Head Husk: A variant of Husks that wear a pumpkin mask, appear across the game during the Hexsylvania Venture Season.
  • Winterfest Husk: A variant of Husks that wear a red shirt and red pants, appear across the game during the Frozen Fjords Venture Season.

The Husk has a movement speed of 0.60 TPS (Tiles per Second). It also has Knockback Threshold of 399.

  • A group of Husks are capable of doing a decent amount of damage to a structure and or player. Depending on the Husks Elemental physique, the Husk may do more or less damage against a structure.
  • Husks can be lured away from the objective by getting their attention.
  • AOE weapons can clear out groups of husks quickly.
  • Floor traps such as the Wooden Floor Spike can slow groups of Husk while damaging most of their health at the same time.
    • Ceiling traps such as the Ceiling Drop Trap can take out groups of Husks with a single tire drop. See Traps for more strategic uses.
  • A weapon with the Energy Element is a recommended to use against all types of Elemental Husks. It will provide atleast 75% damage. The remaining 25% will be added onto the Element that is most effective against the elemented Husk.
    • A Water Element Weapon will do 100% damage against a Fire Husk. Where a Energy Element Weapon will do 75%.
    • A Physical Element Weapon will do only 50% against Elemented enemies.
    • A Water Husk receiving damage from an element opposite such as Fire will receive only 25% damage.
Trivia

  • Ben Shafer, Senior Concept Artist at Epic Games changed the scary art style of Save The World's Husks into a more unique and different style gameplay shifting towards a lighthearted bond, and childhood fantasy exploration. Ben Shafer took the face and pulled the skull out of the face and through the mouth which left the Husk with a skin hoodie flapping.
  • In Fortnite: China, Husks do not show their skull and look more like a human.
  • A Husk can appear as an Epic Mini Boss.
  • In early prototypes of the game, Husks appeared more pale and had a higher pitched screech sound.
