Shielder

Shielders are small purple ghost-like monsters that tag along above some Husks and Mist Monsters to partially shield them from damage.

Kill the Shielder first as it has comparatively low health compared to the Monster it’s shielding.

• Shielded monsters take significantly reduced damage, but the shield can be removed by killing the Shielder attached to them.
• Shielders are quite small so high accuracy weapons are recommended to take them out in order to save ammo.
• Except Floor Spike and Wall Spike, all damage traps can damage Shielders.
• Thunder Thora's perk Electrified Floors will do direct damage to Shielders.

• If a shielded monster is killed while the attached Shielder is still alive, the Shielder will drop to the ground unharmed, stroking its tail in fear. Although, if the Shielder is on the ground, it can also attach to the nearest enemy. Detached Shielders still count as enemies for the purposes of Encampments and rescuing survivors, so detached Shielders must be killed to complete those objectives.
