- — The Ice King
The Ice King, formerly known by another name, is the ruler of The Ice Kingdom as well as the husband of The Ice Queen. He has the ability to completely control ice, which is what gave him his current name.
He is a major character in Fortnite: Battle Royale, serving as the main protagonist of Season 7 and Season 8, a minor antagonist during Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War, the main antagonist of OG Chapter 1: Season 7 and one of the two main antagonists (alongside Dark Voyager) of Chapter 7: Season 2.
Overview
Overview[]
The Ice King is the ruler of The Ice Kingdom. Ages ago, he led his knights on a quest to secure weapons and entities deemed too dangerous for the Omniverse. However, when his closest comrade, The Prisoner, sought to use these items for destructive purposes, the Ice King acted to safeguard the Omniverse. He froze The Prisoner, his other knights, and his fortresses to ensure the dangerous artifacts remained secure. To further protect the Omniverse, he teleported his moon to Reality Zero, which he believed safe, and froze himself in eternal slumber.
Personality
Personality[]
The Ice King is a proud and powerful king who sees himself as the only one truly worthy of wielding power responsibly. In his mind, those who stand beside him are brave allies, while everyone else is either a subject, a distraction or, if they possess dangerous power, someone unworthy who must be punished. Believing it to be his duty, the Ice King has taken it upon himself to maintain balance across the Omniverse. He does this by collecting artifacts, weapons, and even powerful beings that he considers too dangerous to exist freely. Yet his mission has slowly turned into an obsession. In his relentless pursuit of control, he fails to recognize the irony that he himself has become the very kind of threat he seeks to contain.
This obsession makes him deeply distrustful, even of his own allies. At the slightest sign of an idea he considers dangerous, he is willing to turn against them without hesitation. This was most evident when The Prisoner proposed using the artifacts they had gathered to reshape realities according to their desires. Viewing this as a betrayal of his mission, the Ice King responded without mercy, freezing the Prisoner, his knights, his entire kingdom, and even himself in ice. Despite this drastic act, some of his knights and followers appear to have returned to his side after the Zero War, whether freed from the ice or newly recruited following the failure to keep the Ice Moon completely inaccessible.
In the aftermath of the Zero War, however, the Ice King's moral compass appears to have shifted. This is demonstrated by his alliance with Dark Voyager, known to be a major threat to the Omniverse after destroying countless realities. He sparked a civil war among the inhabitants of the Golden Coast by continually confronting The Foundation, with the aim of allowing the Dark Voyager free rein to recover the Zero Shards and rebuild the Zero Point.

History
History[]
Before Chapter 1[]
Ages ago, the Ice King and his brave allies began collecting items of power: things and beings too dangerous too exist. But The Prisoner, the Ice King's staunchest comrade wanted to use these items to alter Realities to their liking. The Ice King was forced to freeze the Prisoner, his knights and all he had acquired within his fortress. He brought The Ice Moon to Reality Zero, a place he thought to be isolated and safe.
Pre-Season 7[]
In a cosmic storm, a fragment of The Ice Moon broke away and crashed into the island's ocean and drifts until it reaches the island at the start of Season 7. Later in Season 7, the ice in Polar Peak's dungeon begins to melt and threatens to let The Prisoner escape.
Season 7[]
To stop the Prisoner from causing chaos, The Ice King modified a shard of The Cube, and used it to unleash the Ice Storm and summon the Ice Legion, an army of Ice Monsters, similar to the Cube Monsters. The Ice Queen seems to have been helping The Ice King. However this was in vain, as the Prisoner manages to escape and takes the eggs of the Hybrids with him and recover his powers. The Ice Legion was defeated.
Season 8[]
The Ice King and the Prisoner continued their war and in an attempt to defeat the Ice King, the Prisoner erupted his volcano, destroying Tilted Towers and Retail Row, and damaging Polar Peak (which later led to The Devourer being awoken in Season 9. The castle was carried on the monster's back and was destroyed in The Final Showdown). Soon after, the Ice King defeated the Prisoner and imprisoned him in eternal ice and threw him into the water
Season 9[]
After the Devourer escaped and threatened Zero Point, and his defeat against Mecha Team Leader, the Ice King returned to the Ice Moon, feeling guilty for having failed in his duty. He made The Ice Moon totally inhospitable to all beings, living or unliving, in an attempt to isolate it permanently.
Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War[]
While looking for Doctor Doom; Agent Jones, Shuri, Wolverine, The Imagined and Spider-Man come across the Ice King's castle. A projection of the Ice King appears and tells them his story. After his story ends, he congratulates them for reaching his castle and getting the high honor of being added to his collection, since they could survive The Ice Moon's temperature and are "too dangerous to remain free". Mecha Team Leader arrives and obliterates his entire castle using the power of The Zero Shard.
OG Chapter 1: Season 7[]
The Ice Moon arrives in Reality: Unknown just it did on Athena. Hidden within Polar Peak and the surrounding area lies The Infinity Blade, the eggs of the Brood, and the dungeon where the eternally burning captain of the endless seas, Pyreheart, is improsoned. As time progressed, the ice would begin to melt, exposing these ancient items and creatures. Meanwhile, Void Walker Lynx watches the Snow Biome[2] and warns her trainee of the boss watching them.[3]
The Ice King, looking with a vengeance,[4] emerges into his Icy Sphere, preparing an Ice Storm as he grows and mixes his energy with a shard of the Cube. The Clock ticking down, he breaks free, and utilizing a Giant hologram, snow encompasses the Island with spawners coming up from the ground, allowing the Ice Legion to run amuck once more.
After the Ice Legion vanished, alongside the Ice King himself, the ice melts enough to allow Pyreheart to break his chains and he leaves with the hatches of The Brood. After regaining his powers, he would then go near Wailing Woods, where he would create a magma chamber under the ground, generating several earthquakes and cracks in the ground over time, with the aim of forming a Volcano.
Pre-Chapter 7: Season 2[]
After the Dark Voyager's Final Wave, shards distortions appeared all over Reality: 266. While The Foundation arrives in Reality: 266 joining the New Seven and, after getting rid of his old one, reforged tech suits are built for him and The Order. But just as the team of heroes is mostly reunited, three Zero Point Shards are brought on the Island, bringing different realities and merging them with the Island.
The Ice King and his Frigid Fortress cover the northern part of the Island, Reality: 7021's Squibbly Shores takes the place of Bumpy Bay while, near the New Sanctuary, a shard contaminates the waters near Looper's Leap.
The Ice King poses himself as a new threat for the Golden Coast, looking to freeze whoever holds enough power, deeming them unworthy. Among his collection there are the restless spirit Orelia, the warrior Guan Yu, the first Avenger Captain America and his former knight The Prisoner. While on the Island, the Ice King adds Human Bill and Peely to his throne room prisoners.
Ice King's Collection
Ice King's Collection[]

Trivia
Trivia[]
- The Ice King seems to be inspired by the legend of King Arthur.
- The Ice King shared a round table with his knights.
- The Infinity Blade was sealed in the same way as The Sword in The Stone from King Arthur's legend.
- In Creative mode, the sealed Infinity Blade is named Sword In The Stone.
- It is possible that the Ice King recovered the Infinity Blade from Infinity Blade game's Reality itself.
- In Infinity Blade Saga, it's explained that The Infinity Blade is a sword of light capable of killing semi immortals beings known as Deathless by directly attacking the soul, destabilizing it and thus preventing these beings from regenerating their current vessel or obtaining a new one. This might explain why The Ice King retrieved and sealed it much like other items in his collection.
- The Ice King may be a Deathless from Infinity Blade game's Reality. In addition to possessing the Infinity Blade, he has an extremely long lifespan and does not need to eat or drink to survive, just like the Deathless.
- His Ice Moon is very similar to Heaven from Infinity Blade saga.
