Drift is a major character in Fortnite: Battle Royale; He serves as the main protagonist of Season 5.

Season 5[]

Drift was an ordinary person from California within the "real" world, Earth. Sometime after the metal Durrr Burger head teleported to the deserts of California in Season 4, Drift drove to the site and spray-painted graffiti art of a Kitsune mask in a pink hood onto it.

Shortly after he added the final touches, another Rift brought the burger back into Reality Zero, bringing Drift in as well. Drift was greeted by Brite Bomber, Rex, Cuddle Team Leader, and a few other people who were on a road trip.

Over the course of a few weeks, Drift seemed to gain paranormal powers related to the Rifts, visible in his cloak, back bling, harvesting tool, and notably his mask. He followed the others along on their road trip, and became friends with Brite Bomber. They visited several locations across the island.

Season X[]

Years after Season 5, either before or soon after The End event in Season X, he was seen hugging Brite Bomber and a pet dog, watching the last sunset of Chapter 1 in the Last Stop Loading Screen

Chapter 2: Season 5[]

Drift is contacted by Vi, the last surviving member of the Fox Clan. He can later be seen alongside her and Catalyst in the Fox Clan Reborn Loading Screen - solidifying the proper revival of the Clan.

Chapter 4: Season 1[]

Drift, alongside Vi and Catalyst can appear as a Rift Encounter with a piece of what seems to be an IO Surface Hub. They seem to be working closely together. Eventually, they use their Rift abilities to teleport away, with Drift or either of the other two claiming they "can't be here" and "need to go back."

After the encounter was modified in Update v23.40 to include only two members, he may appear with Catalyst or Vi, where they examine their surroundings before stating: "Again?! No! Not right now. Not when they need us." and rifting away, should the player get too close.

The Rift Encounter was modified for a third and final time in Update v23.50; Drift may appear as the single Fox Clan member of the encounter, wordlessly exhausted or even upset for an unknown reason. He will not teleport away, even if the player is near.

Chapter 4: Season 2[]

After Stray leaves the River Guard for the Fox Clan, tensions raise between the two rival groups; as a result Mizuki threatens to harm Drift, should anything happen to Stray during his time in the clan.^[1]

Drift is presumably present during the Syndicate Quests as an unseen character through the Fox Clan, such as when The Looper needs to impress them, or when they attend a dinner in order to negotiate with the River Guard.

Chapter 6: Season 1[]

Admist the re-emergence of the Fox Clan on Reality: 783, Drift likely resides in Twinkle Terrace with the rest of the Clan, nearby their hideout. Despite Mizuki's earlier warnings, he appears to have directly taken Stray under his wing, acting his mentor since the events of Chapter 4: Season 2 - though Vi has to remind Drift to train him. Later, Drift takes on a second apprentice: Serge.

Notably, Mizuki now appears less outright hostile towards him.^[2]

LEGO Fortnite Brick Life[]

Drift both operates and owns the Vehicles App^[3] - stationing himself on the sidewalk near the north corner of Brick Bay, just outside of Wheels 'n Deals. Additionally, Drift organizes the local races within the city to "keep the streets exciting".^[4] Around 5PM in-game time, Drift may contact players to compete and prove themselves among the fastest in the city.

Chapter 6: Season 4[]

Following Daigo's unwilling servitude under the Dark Presence as Mask Maker Daigo, Drift and the rest of the Fox Clan scatter across Realities in fear of reliving the events of the Shattering War.^[5]

OG Chapter 1: Season 5[]

Drift emerges in Reality: Unknown while it's in the same era of his inital arrival back in Reality Zero, and reminisces about the happy memories from his first days on the island.^[6] He is now likely the leader of the Fox Clan, as his wrap is named Fox Clan Leader.

Daft Punk Experience[]

Drift returns to Reality: 783. In the snow-covered mountains northwest of Demon's Debris, a mysterious Monolith has suddenly appeared, and begun glowing silver and gold. At some point, Drift and The Weeknd venture to the mountains to investigate;^[7] The Monolith is then revealed to be a window to another time and place.^[8]
